Can anyone suggest a lube that lasts a bit longer then KY? One that doesn't cause anykind of discomfort later too....I think I might be allergic to KY....

A woman went to a doctor because her husband was too shy.

"Doctor," she began explaining, "it's about my husband. His penis is a terrible color!"

"Oh?" asked the doctor, "and do you have any idea why that should be?"

"I'm not sure," the wife replied, "but it might be the contraceptive jelly we use."

    "What kind was that?"

    "Welch's grape," she answered.

    Try Astroglide.

I like Albolene but I am not sure that a petroleum based product is a good idea for your internal parts. On the other hand if you are looking for a lubrication for marathon clit rubbing sessions I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Forget KY. There's a world full of other lubes out there, so experiment around. Lubes containing spermocidal additives can be irritating for some people, so keep that in mind as well.

In general, any lube will fall into one of three categories:
    • water-based (condom compatible, generally the least longevity)
    • silicone-based (condom compatible, longer longevity, can be expensive)
    • oil-based (NOT condom compatible, longest longevity, can be cheapest)
In terms of water-based lubes, it doesn't get much better than Astroglide, in my experience. If you desire something even longer-lasting, there are a number of good silicone-based lubes out there including Wet Platinum, but they can tend to get a bit pricey. A little goes a long way with those, however. If condom preservation isn't an issue, there are several oil-based lubes out there. Mineral oil, baby oil (a close cousin to mineral oil), and Albolene (which is a combination of mineral oil and vaseline). All of these are common drug store finds.

Try CheapLubes.com - Inexpensive Personal Lubricants, Condoms, and Adult Toys. They sell pretty much every lube known to man at good prices. The service is great and 100% discreet. They even have some samplers.

    Hope this helps!

We love Eros Bodyglide! Doesn't get sticky and lasts for a long time. A little goes a long way so it's a better value than the price tag might suggest.

Hey, now there's one I hadn't heard of. Must smell good, too... perhaps a bit "nutty", even! :biggrin1:

Yup it's great for oral sex, and it's heavy enough for anal as well.

We've just started using Astroglide (for anal) but I hear it's great for anything. Spermicides give me a rash, so if KY irritates you, I would second the recommendation that you avoid lubes containing extra chemicals. I also would stay away from flavored varieties.

A friend of my husband's (whose wife suffered from vaginal dryness) raved about Astroglide years ago, and at the time the man was having to visit an exclusive porn shop to get it. But nowadays they sell several kinds at my friendly neighborhood grocery store, of all places!

One note of caution: unlike KY, a little goes a long way with this stuff. If you're not careful you'll end up so lubed that you slip and slide around trying to get a large "Tab A" into a tiny "Slot B."

Also, from recent and very limited experience, I would agree that if your relationship situation allows your partner to go bareback (no condom), oil can feel very nice on any part of your body. It is indeed fabulous for clit-rubbing, as another member mentioned.

However, I'll give my two cents worth, from one sensitive woman to another: although I shave with baby oil, I won't use it internally because I'm so easily irritated by fragrances & stuff. Also, mineral oil is a mild carcinogen (I found this out at the lab where I work), so I would not put it on a mucous membrane such as the vagina, at least not on a regular basis.
Just a week ago, on a whim, we tried ordinary canola oil, with surprisingly good results. It's fragrance-free, non-irritating, and dirt cheap for the lucky few of us who don't need condoms. Neither of us had any problems afterward.

I've used "WET" for several years. It's odorless, tasteless (unless you get the flavoured kind), doesn't get sticky and feels wonderful on my skin.

Thank you to all of you for your help...My boyfriend tends to last a long time and likes it a little rough...which is great for me...but all of ya'lls suggestions we will give a try.

One more question...from some of the replies...Wet would be good for anal sex...right? He and are would like to try that and I want to make sure we use the right one. He will be wearing a condom for that....;)

Wet is good for anything and it's condom-compatible.
