they’re going too far now. these media sites don’t have boundaries and potentially outing someone isnt a funny gag, this is actually fucked up… especially in such a conservative country like south korea.

When a bar closes, you know an idol has fucked up beyond repair. Them closing was the first sign all of this is true and that more is to come, because China is pretty relaxed when it comes to idols dating.
Also, SM cancelling his subunit debut, hours before it was meant to drop is also very telling. According to posts on official Chinese media, the music video, song and all pre recorded music show appearances have been scrapped. This happened about 2 hours before they were meant to air.
I just feel bad for Hendery.

In China it very much is. And his cbar was closed by his own fans, heck his Chinese fans have been pretty ruthless against him.
I get that in the west this is nothing and he would be getting reality TV show offers left and right, but these idols build up their fame by selling the pure innocent boyfriend fantasy. So once that is crushed its hard to keep going.
In Korea he might still have something since his label is quite powerful, but so far it seems even Korean fans have turned on him
I agree that everything is a little excessive, I'm not part of his defence squad by any means, I think what he did was wrong and he needs to be held accountable.
But the thing is, the Chinese public are very big on morals and values when it comes to their celebrities - and they're currently looking for his head on a plate.
He basically just shattered his idol image and we won't bounce back from that. And neither will WayV as long as he's I the group. The group pushes this family narrative, and now we're seeing him shit talk about his members and say some only debuted because of their looks (which is funny coming from someone that only debuted because of his looks) and that's not going down well, AT ALL.
His actions also cancelled the first promotion outside of the main group that Hendery has every had, so his fans are also furious.
People have also dug and found his brothers socials, and now they know his family are pro Hong Kong, and want their independence back. Which is adding to the flames. (I believe Hong Kong should be independent, and Lucas and his family, who are from there, have every right to think that. I just wanted to throw that out there in case it seemed like I was agreeing with that part.)
I'd cut Jackson some slack on that. Idols from Hong Kong, Taiwan and China basically HAVE to say they support the one China rule if they ever want to work, or have support in CCP.
A Taiwanese member of TWICE once said she was Taiwanese, and not Chinese, and had a country flag next to her name (all the members had their nationalty and flag on their name plates, it was on some show), and the backlash from mainland China was so bad, she had to apologise, or risk a boycott of the group.

You can tell that lucas is a “wild” type of personality behind closed doors just by the look in his eyes. He is definitely no angel and I have the same suspicions about Mark too but this is no reason for Lucas’s career to be over. Young people make mistakes in relationships and hookup. It is part of life and hopefully he will learn better behavior as he grows older. The girls dont deserve to be lied to and he should always wear protection, but he is also only 22. This is the years to get this behavior out of your system.
