I'm not butch but I'm not nelly either. Going to prep school is kinda gay no matter how you curl it as you had to be smart and work hard enough to stay in. There's the whole pink thing with prep guys and the madras shorts are the last word in unmacho. I've pretty much kept that style as it seems workable for me.

On the whole though, I don't think I've tripped any gaydar. I'm pretty masculine and like doing guy things except I'm not good at sports and loathe watching most of them. My one exception is the Olympics. I LOVE watching the Olympics, any event.

We seem to be duplicates, dcwrestlefan, except for the Jeep and the baseball game (Mazda6 and soccer here, thanks).

Love to hike and camp (the kind with a tent, not the kind with the feather boa). Enjoy sports, both playing and watching. Can't hit a ball with a stick and can't run while bouncing a ball, so baseball and basketball are both out, but plenty of others are fun.

Never understood the plucked, perfumed twink look, and definitely don't understand the way it has morphed into some people's version of "metrosexual." Particularly for straight men.

Macho? Not particularly. But almost always mistaken for straight.

I'm the same as you, 9inch. I don't act any different than how I've always done. People don't seem to pick it up unless I let slip a homo-comment, like 'Has anyone been watching the bulges at the Tour de France?'. Which is a big give away, I think.

My closest male friends have always been the most attractive macho guys...I assume they are hetero, but that question has never surfaced among us. Several have experienced sex with me and I assume that was simply hetero exprimentation. I have never requested sex from any hetero male friend, but also have rarely refused it. I can't actually explain the mechanism, honkworm ...but I think it is something similar to spontaneous combustion! It suddenly erupts from a mutually compelling physical/sexual attraction! It has existed with me and some of my hetero male friends since I was in college, happened while I was overseas in the military, continued during the brief period 50 years ago when I was doing porn and occurs occasionally even now as I wind down to a slower sexual pace! Having said that, there's such a thing as gay behavior, yes. Usually you can identify a gay guy even if he doesn't talk about being with men etc. Not always, but most of the time, I'd say (either that, or having a degree in Literature, and all the wonderful people I met at the University at that time, gave me a shaper perception of this)
