The Malawian government has little to do,spending precious time on such ridiculous matters.

Hounding gays,(Public humiliation followed by 14 years imprisonment last year) and now this!

International agencies,including the USA and UK work hard in that country,and give Malawi a great deal of cash. Perhaps it's time Malawi took their starving population seriously,and concentrated on urgent matters of life and death.

For the offender to be caught another person must be present to witness it and, voila, reasonable doubt over the odour's origin.

Actually there is a trend for this nonsense and in the case of the Pakistan Blasphemy laws, it isn't funny at all. This type of legislation allows nasty minded little people to make false accusations that are then very damaging, even life threatening. Seems Kramer's malleus maleficarum is back in vogue.

Please note #22 regarding farting in Florida after 6pm on Thursdays. There is also one ban on farting in my state on the books since 2006. Very funny.
