Any man's premature death is sad. I failed to see his talent, but that is just me. He was an iconoclast who became a media luvvy and establishment figure. RIP

Didn't really agree with him, but he livened things up a little. He joins Tony Wilson (NW version of Mclaren) in dying relatively young.

His death made me very sad. Malcolm Mclaren's music was the soundtrack to my youth in the seventies and throughout the eighties.

Okay. He had those qualities you describe, but he was also a huckster and "scam" artist in the music world. Some of his projects were just playing with other people's brains.

One of my favorite punk bands he managed were the New York Dolls. Thats going back aways to 1973. He was very influential on the punk scene in New York and London. However it was some of his own work that left a impact on me. His love and willingness to experiment with music was wonderful. Most evident in this charming piece from the Paris album.

Much as I was a **huge** fan of Bow Wow Wow's first two albums, it was claimed that the singer, Annabella Lwin was 14 when she recorded Sexy Eiffel Towers (Wikipedia claims she was 16, still underage). It would probably be decried as Kiddie Porn today.

Personaly I think the sex pistols Anarchy in the UK is one of the greatest songs ever written, it saved us all from death by Yes and Wishbone Ash.
