I was hired as the senior Englsh teacher by this school specifically because the students consistently rate among the lowest scorers on the English portion of the California Achievement Test and the state exit exam. The School Board members seem to think that I can change that, and I will have to prove to be a strict instructor to do so. Many students may wish they weren't in my class. If I am the moron that haveasnackdud implies, I shall likely fail miserably. If that happens, I'll have to fall back on dancing and make some real money. *Sigh.* What's a Whopper to do?

Pray that your students didn&#39;t learn English from video games. Seriously, they think one teacher&#39;s going to make that much of a difference?

One of the big problems was that they started mass-producing education; it&#39;s hard to personalize it for each student, teach them that English can be more interesting than just the proper plural of penis. (I think the internet&#39;s ruined that, judging by the number of hate mails with the subject line "your an idiot" I get within a single week. Now that&#39;s ironic.)
