Turning the Male Perm Into a Very Good Hair Day
I think this guy is great. A lot of people shave their heads in solidarity with their friends going through chemo. I think it takes real balls to have your locks coiffed into an early 1980's style perm in this day and age.
So tell me, how many of you men had a perm back in the day?
Come on now don't be shy. Show us the pics of your perm days. :biggrin1:
CARA BUCKLEY
Some people may have silently rejoiced when untold thousands of white men stopped wearing their hair in tight curls, sometime around 1982. But not Roman Pietrs, a graphic artist who is single-handedly trying to bring back the male perm.
Mr. Pietrs, 36, contemplated going curly for years. The male perm, he believed, was a shamefully neglected hairstyle in dire need of respect and revival. But recently, he decided he had a purpose for getting a perm. He wanted to raise money for a childhood friend who had developed a potentially paralyzing illness, and vowed, through his Web site, www.maleperm.com, to get a perm and wear it for one week for every $1,000 raised.
