Well David, it's not like all women clamp up and refuse to have sex after a certain age. I know it sometimes seems that way, but the truth is that any woman will sleep with a guy provided she feels that he's the right one for her. I do find that men take a little longer to warm up and be comfortable in their own skin as opposed to women, so it's not surprising that it can take them a while to find a partner. Some guys are also not cut out for the going-out scene which makes socializing difficult. A lot of men make up tall stories to make themselves seem less awkward, but my guess is that their true exploits are half or a third of what they claim.
As far as experience goes, there are actually quite a few people who find virgins endearing. In a time when STDs and promiscuity in general are rampant, it can be kind of refreshing to meet someone who's not out to get laid every single weekend. So don't assume that everyone loves someone who's been around the block. It actually seems to be the trend to be pure and natural these days. We're entering a time where people think it's cool to be 'unspoiled' by vices.
I think we just hear about their exploits more because they tend to be extroverted and brag about their experiences.
