Backstory or not, moobs have caused a lot of problems for guys. That's one cosmetic surgery that should be considered a necessity. I've known guys who refused to take off their shirts, not only in public, but also during sex. Seems like it could be pretty devestating to the self esteem.

I developed 'moobs' around the age of 13 (when puberty started), and my moobs have caused me nothing but pain ever since. I have upper back pain because of them. I spent the majority of my middle school and high school years being tortured, tormented, and molested by other guys in the school. Its so humiliating...I've had my moobs and nipples grabbed, squeezed, pinched, pulled, and pretty much everything in between. I've gone the majority of my adolescent and adult life refusing to take off my shirt to swim, etc. Hell, they are such an issue, it interferes with my non-existant sex life. This past summer was the first time I ever swam without a shirt, but I'm still highly self conscious about them. I'm too embarassed to even go out and 'play the field' so to speak because of them. If I had the money, I would get them lopped off in a heart beat.

+1 But it's a seriously expensive procedure for out of pocket.

Men with large rib cages or large bone structures sport moobs very easily and they're a bitch to try and get rid of.

Gain a few pounds and they go straight to your boobs and your waist. Boobs being the first stop.

I think I started a thread long ago somewhere on here on what the best exercise is to remove them.

That's so sad :frown1:. I've never had sex with anyone who was that worried about what I might think of their body.

I find it sad too. But like unabear says, a lot of these guys have been tormented for years, so it takes a lot of time for trust to develop.

I really feel for you and I wish the other boys weren't such assholes. I guess that's why I feel having surgery was considered a medical necessity and would be covered by insurance. No way should any boy grow into manhood feeling that way about himself. This isn't about looking perfect, but about feeling normal.

Anyway, I'm a woman who likes a man for who he is and not for the 'perfection' of his body.

How do I respond: flippant or serious? Here's both.

Flippant: being the skinny bitch that I am, moobs will never ever be a concern of mine.

Serious: body issues blow. Though I'm usually not a person who suggests surgery to correct superficial appearance issues, if there were someone who'd never remove his shirt (even during sex) because of issues dealing with his chest, then I'd say that there's a real problem afoot. I'd advocate counseling first, but corrective surgery if nothing else would work.

Besides, I'm a strong advocate of self-autonomy, so being reflexively anti-modification just seems to fucking hypocritical. I hate hypocrites.

I'm confused.. I thought you got man-boobs from gaining weight or being over-weight? Why then have surgery, isn't exercise and diets a better way to lose them?

If they appear from other reasons I guess surgery is a better option, like someone wrote they got it from "lumps", that they removed?

If you have man-boobs from being overweight I don't see the positive side of having surgery to remove them. You'll still be overweight and gain more from turning to a more healthier lifestyle, rather than removing just that one appearance-problem, right? Just my thoughts. :p

After taking the plunge and changing to soy milk and eliminating dairy I discovered there is a real possibility of too much soy causing Gynecomastia. I'm back to regular milk, cream, and stuff made of cow juice. Not interested in getting male breast reduction on top of already going to the gym regularly.

However, if I were heterosexual, maybe I wouldn't mind having enlarged breasts because I could play with them all the time.
