Manscaping

I recently was involved in a conversation with a couple of girls I know regarding how it is becoming more accepted and actually encouraged to "manscape", ie trim the pubic hair region to a pleasing arrangement. I can definately see where they're coming from - guys have been pressuring girls to trim theirs for some time now. My question is not whether to do it or not, I'm already sold on that, but rather how a man with a reasonably hairy torso can do it without looking like an idiot.

Now I'm not talking about Robin Williams type wolfman pelt but a fine mat of hair. I'm concerned about the area beteween the belly button and cock as well as the interior thigh region. Shave those areas and you've got a weird hairless frame for your cock. Not particularly attractive.

So far all I've done is shave my balls whose end result was suprisingly nice. Anyone else have any suggestions?

IMHO shaving is for pornstars and OCD-ridden freaks. Any please you get from a smooth area that was formerly hairy pales in significance to the itch as the hair grows back.

I use a hair trimmer periodically to trim my chest, but haven't trimmed my belly in ages. Men are hairy beasts and that's one of my main attractions to them.

I've been shaving the "boys" and the "pole" for years....and wouldn't have it anyother way. I don't shave the whole pubic region, just a nice trim. To me, pubic hair, when left to grow, is gross. I wish my wife would trim more!

Mr. Curve, I checked out your chest hair in your photos--I don't think you'd have any issue incorporating manscaping into your torso. You're not a wooly pelt by any means (perfect amount of hair, imo).

If you really want to trim up, you can get a "personal trimmer" at Target or any of those stores. They usually have a few different types of trimmers--small ones for facial hair, covered ones for tender bits, and the standard trimmers with plastic guides so you can choose the amount of hair you want to take off. I'd just suggest using one of those with the guide. No need to take it all off if you think it will look weird.

Personally, I don't mind if it's all gone or just neatly trimmed. I just don't want to have to floss with it while I'm down there.

I would say just trim the hair on your torso down a bit . If you have back hair, wax that (or hair on your ass). I would say also just keep your pubic hair trimmed. I even trim back my leg hair a bit.

Nothing too drastic. I still look like a grown male, just not like one being covered in unkempt overgrowth.

I think girls do appreciate it. While they may not insist on you being smooth as a 12 yr old boy, I think they can be a little a turned off by alot of body hair, especially places like the ass and back, or if theyre going down on you and they feel ike theyre stuffing their face in a nest of pubes. I am sure it is a response to the Abercrombie ideal of male beauty girls have been exposed to. Women from an older generation actually like hairy men. But younger women prefer a smoother guy.


Just don't go crazy. If you start shaving your pits or have legs smoother than theis, I think a lot of girls would be weirded out.
