Dude wasn't duped. He made the story up either to boost his rep in running for the Heisman or as an attempt to hide that he's actually gay. Or, maybe both. Hmmmm?
Lesson for closeted sports figures: Invoking imaginary girlfriend will bring you scorn and mockery. Invoking imaginary sky friend will bring you fame and fortune. Choose wisely.
New social media phenomena, "Te'oing." Posting pics with imaginary friends. Can't be good for your NFL draft prospects. Were he actually duped, should have come clean immediately when he learned "the truth." Now there's no doubt he's at least somewhat complicit in the gf hoax--and that's the best case scenario.(Tell ND to stock up on gold leaf...there's going to be a whole lot of bird shit landing on the golden dome shortly.)
