We usually did Lundi Gras when weather seemed agreeable. Went down near the Aquarium and Riverwalk for meeting of Zulu and Rex. Then we ambled on down to St. Joseph and St. Charles (behind where the old Y used to be) to catch Harry's parade.
Since The Storm tho, we've been catching it on Poydras and St. Charles (in the shadow of One Shell -
if a shadow could be cast at night). Mardi Gras day used to catch us down by Canal and Loyola for Zulu, then we walked up a spell for Rex.
Before the kids it was the Quarters and the Fashion Show. One could truly see anything and everything out there: nudity, b.j's, you name it. However, since the kids have grown and gotten "outta the way" (as the saying goes) our taste for the Bourbon street madness has yet to return. Maybe we've outgrown it, or have seen it too many times.
Anyway, best parades to catch besides Rex and Zulu are Endymion, Baccuhus, and Orpheus (imo). If you come and want to "show yer tits" (or anything else for that matter) best keep it in the Quarters. Elsewhere is a "no no".
