Girl, please. Y'all can't step to Humboldt County, now.

And I have to confess I answered the poll incorrectly. I had already marked yes before I realized I should have checked the last box. Oh well, another stoner mistake.

Yea I did the same thing. I only read the first two and assumed the last would be "I don't smoke" so I didn't even read down that far.

Are you kidding? The answer, as with so many other political issues, is all about money.

Granted, it's Wikipedia, so take it with a grain of salt...but it's certainly interesting reading.

I actually did a report about this for school back in 11th grade. If herb was legalized in America it would save the US a bundle of money.

Only if you butter it in tobacco.

True - I can't smoke tobacco now - hash has to go in a pipe* and black's not great for pipes. I much prefer the high off grass anyway, sticky skunky shit - I smoke it on its own - heavy on the lungs but the lack of tobacco means one can smoke a lot more without feeling ill. This is, of course, not necessarily a good thing

*bongs and such are great - but so time consuming!

IMO, it's absurd that there are laws against pot. It's fairly liberal in California. The police have more pressing matters than dealing with some guy getting stoned in his apartment and not bothering anyone. I've enjoyed smoking herb since the fall of 1970. I graduated college with a high GPA. I'm a professional person and athletic. I have a few puffs at night instead of drinking (can't drink due to high blood sugar). I think it's okay as long as it's not abused. Time for a B-load!

Yep they cant get tax from plants you can grow in your garden for free, the only real truth all about it.

But do you realize how much money the US spends on busting people for smoking or selling weed. It's ridiculous.

Either way they have to burn it to destroy it. They should be smoking it so it doesn't go to waste at least. I would cry if I saw a bunch of weed just being burned for no good reason.

Yes.

As the line after the lines you quoted from me would indicate. I just find it incomprehensible that people still believe that pot is substantively dangerous/addictive in ways that legal drugs like alcohol, tobacco and caffeine aren't.

I've had pot offered to me on many occasions, but I've honestly never been tempted. If I'm somewhere at a party booze is just fine for me, but even that I don't do more than once every two months or so. I guess I don't see the point in pot, I like being active and can relax in other manners.

It's not so much a relaxation thing for me. I do like the feeling and all but I guess I'm somewhat of an enhancement smoker as well. It can make a good movie even better (especially a comedy), it can make music sound better, and it can make food taste better.

I used to smoke everyday, but I've recently stopped smoking so often. It was becoming a habit, it wasn't fun anymore. Now, I smoke every once in a while, while out with friends, I smoke less and it's a blast everytime.

According to the article Canadian's usage is higher per capita than with many other other countries, but a commentator mentioned that Canadians may simply be more honest about being users than other nations and are perhaps not really much different

Would people in the USA answer honestly in a poll about one's drug habits, given the usual assurances about anonymity? Or would there be a reticence due to fear of discovery?

That's a good point....Anyone that's worked in the USA restaurant biz can attest to the fact the Everyone there smokes weed.

As for myself, I love it! It's been a while since I had to procure any for myself (just smoked off my bandmates) but now I'm kinda stressin' because I'm having a hard time scoring...

I had never heard the term before, but you could call me an "enhancement smoker" as well...I love getting high and playing music, getting high and going grocery shopping, getting high and humping, even getting high and doing math problems!

Contrary to what some people have said, it's not really relaxing for me at all, and in fact it hypes me up and makes me zone out on one particular thing to the exclusion of everything else.

The only thing I hate is that it makes me dumb-headed the next day. At my age (lol) I'm really starting to notice the detrimental effects it has on my mind. Usually the whole morning of the next day I feel slow and un-motivated.

I have two vices ... I smoke marahoochie (heh heh ... no great vice, folks), and I never buy my own.
I smoke probably every two weeks on average.
In my 20s, there were several years when I was smoking daily, but that was a product of the folly and the resilience of youth.
I don't like to go out in public when I've smoked up, but I love conversation (though I know I tend to go in ever-tightening, obsessive circles), and I love listening to music and, above all, playing music.
Reading while stoned can be fun, but if retention is your goal, it's a dead loss.
Smoking several times a week would be too often for me; my memory is easily affected, as is my motivation.
But the strong sense of truly sharing space with people, of feeling their energies move out to me and back, the waves of crashing laughter that come, the moments of enhanced compassion ... there's so much that I wouldn't altogether give up.

I used to smoke, but quit. I bought it maybe 3 times in my life, all the hundreds of other times were with friends. Between the ages of 13 and 15, I was doing it probably a few times a week.. between the ages of 15 and 16, it was a few times a month. When I was 16, it started giving me panic attacks, so I stopped. Haven't had it since, don't miss it.

I guess I don't see the point in pot, I like being active and can relax in other manners.

That's what eventually drove me away from smoking out. Some of my friends didn't seem to mind being tired and groggy all the next day but I eventually tired of the lethargic aftermath and moved on.
