Wasn't Mark in an accident many years ago? I am thinking that he had some injuries to his face. Anyone remember that?
I do remember that. Had to have some fairly major plastic surgery to his face, as I recall.

I saw him in a cameo role as a delivery boy in a Season 2 episode of Rod Serling's "Night Gallery". That was 1971 - five years before 'Star Wars'. He looked like a typical 1971 So Cal blonde kid. Had his name not shown up on the credits, I wouldn't have had a clue it was him.

On January 11, 1977, one day before he was set to shoot one of the needed scenes in Star Wars, Hamill was in a car accident in which he fractured his nose and left cheekbone,[6] which required seven hours of surgery. As a result, a double was used for the landspeeder pickup shots.[7]
It does not seem that this particular accident hurt his career. No other accident was noted.
He was still recognizable in "Criminal Minds", though he has gained weight and looks aged. There are many 50 and 60+ year olds that do not look their age (celebrity or not) and are in great shape. Mark is just not one of them. However, as Auspoz points out, some us do not get to reach that age regardless how the aging process goes or a great physique.
Nonetheless, it was good to see him acting and breaking from the "Goody-Two-Shoes-Hero" typecast.
This is more of a general comment. Mark Hamill may have decided to skip the plastic surgery route. Some actors who have gone down the surgery route do look plastic. Ken and Barbie look more realistic than some of those actors who have had too much Botox and surgery. Mark Hamill may look his age, but I'd still do him. Or he could do me. Or maybe we could do each other. (Yeah, right! Like I'd ever have a chance!)(LMAO)
Yes, he had a major facial reconstruction.
I met him briefly in around '76 or '77 when he was in Australia for one of the Star Wars Premieres, it was before the accident and he was a real hottie, no gay vibe whatsoever.
