Rich2003: Can this crazy guy Robert xxx be banned.

He's up to 47 messages saying exactly the same thing. I think he might be going through some sort of emotional breakdown!!!!!

prepstudinsc: While I find Robertxxx extremely annoying, it's gotten to be kind of fun this morning getting him all riled up. I had 3 private messages from him all saying the same thing. I think he needs some lithium or something. LOL

Rich2003: I got really excited seeing I had loads of private messages-
little did I know they were all from our friend Robert telling me that his intention is to destroy the site.

I know we wanted some of the Lurkers to come and start posting but this is ridiculous!!!!!!!!

Sometimes we have to be careful for what we wish for--sometimes those things just might come true.....

(ok, to tie into another thread...I know this is poor grammar, but I didn't want to be pretentious and say "...be careful for that which we wish....")

That old end-a-sentence-with-a-preposition rule again! Very few people (and fewer manuals of style) are quite so rigid anymore; there are certainly instances and usages (like your example) that sound much better with the preposition in its "natural" position. There's a big difference between saying "Be careful what you wish for" and "Where are you at?"

What's the old chestnut (attributed at least apocryphally to Winston Churchill)...? "Ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I will not put."

(Corrected a typo. One of my prepositions came out proposition. Oops!)
