And to answer the question Dirtyblacksummer - no post -pro trickery here (while I can ride a unicycle through avid or fcp while juggling in the dark, I can't find the front door to after effects or motion), all old-fashioned optics. In this case, canon 5d mkII with a zeiss 35mm T2.0 prime, I believe wide open.

The combo of a motion-picture-film equivalent 70mm sensor-size (roughly the same size frame as IMAX film) and very fast, VERY sharp glass does the trick rather easily. I could have lit the shot if I was really going for production value, ambient light goes a long way with HDSLRs!
