Every city that has a large gay community will have a gay bar or maybe more than one that caters to the leather crowd. This is an area with which I am familiar. In Toronto the one I knew of used to be "The Tool Box" which is no longer there.
In Palm Springs, California the bar is "The Tool Shed". California has morphed so much recently with the influx to the Palm Springs area that I could not tell you what is left in Los Angeles, San Francisco or San Diego.
Leather bars will be the attracting place for those who enjoy the leather scenes and role playing.
This is an area in which, at age 22, you need to move very slowly and carefully. I very much agree with Exbiker on this one. There are some individuals out there that may not have your best interests at heart, and there are some Masters that take things too far at times. There are also a great number of good men who will expand your limits in this area without actually hurting you.
What you need to do at your age is to sit back and learn the rules and the parts of the leather world slowly and completely before you jump in with both feet. Under the right circumstances, you can be risking more than you ever dreamed was possible, and if you meet the right people you can enjoy some kink. The problem is recognizing situations that clue you in to the difference.
Good Luck.
