I open this topic today because we often read that a consistent work out of the penis helps keep everything healthy. I am not referring to LPSG topics, but others on the WWW.

First Off, I enjoy masturbation because it is fun. Even in my mature age, I still enjoy this type of activity. Also, I have a healthy sex life so I am not restricted to Masturbation.

Secondly, I do like to think that frequent sex and/or masturbation is a good thing because it allows everything to function.

All of this stated, please be aware that I am not a Medical Professional; however I plan to enjoy life for a very long time and I desire to remain fairly healthy.

Therefore I am looking forward to everyone's comments, from the young and old regarding this topic.

I can remember when I was a teen ager and often worked off a batch of sperm that I was sometimes afraid that "I would run out." This often caused me to refrain from masturbation for a few days; but then right back into my regular daily schedule of at least once a day.

Looking forward to your input on this topic. Not only do I view this site as a support site, but an information site, as well as a fun site to discuss penis issues and address our concern.

Must go Now!!!!

Hung I'm 57 and enjoy masturbation and sex with my wife also. How does one determine if masturbation is healthy or not. If you didn't masturbate would you live longer but be unhappier or if you do and live to be 100 is it because of the many hours of enjoyable masturbation. I have struggled with masturbation because of religious views that it is not permitted. I can't quite understand if God made my dick why He wouldn't want me to use it. I can understand that He wouldn't want me to use it on every man and women but why not exercise it regularly like any other body function?

I just turned 70. I have an orgasm at least 3x a week. Less than a week ago I have a second orgasm about 1 hr after my first for that day. This surprised me and I was pleased. My orgasms are as intense if not more than when I was much younger. But my cum volume has really declined. I do not see any correlation to cum volume to orgasm intensity. I take 10 mg of tadalafil every day along with a testosterone creme (5%) replacement. I have daily erections, particularly in the morning, and if I concentrate on what I am doing I can keep an erection for a long time.... maybe as much as an hour.

So while I am aging and losing some of my sexual drive I am performing well enough to be very interested in sex. My conclusion is that the older person does not have to retire from sex if he does not want to. You can keep it up if you want to. It is a matter of attitude. (exception.. I do have reduced erection ability without my generic cialis.. so aging is a factor to this extent.)

Last note: when I was younger I would have orgasms very easily. Now I have to concentrate to get orgasmic. If not I will go for a long time with a hard on without an orgasm. So aging affects our orgasm triggers. But the good news is that you can edge and keep the point of no return lingering for many minutes... 20 or more if you are disciplined. While a younger person can acheive multiple orgasms more easily, it may still be attainable for some seniors. I am flirting with this and think that I acheived it once before, but I lack some of the discipline to really hold back when I get so close by accident.

Hope this helps those like me.

I appreciate this thread because it helps me immensely to know that my sex drive & orgasmic ability doesn't necessarily HAVE to decrease with age. A little slow-down for me would be A-OK but it's great to think that it may not disappear entirely. I'm 41 and masturbate or have sex a few times a week, still. I'm not sure how that fits in with the normalness of things....

I'm in my sixtieth year and I still enjoy masturbation. I don't necessarily have the desire to do it every day as I did when I was younger. Sometimes it's harder to get to that wonderful point where one has an orgasm -- in fact, some days I just stop without having had an orgasm, but that doesn't take away the pleasure I've had of stroking my erect penis. On average, I'd say I masturbate three times a week.

Morning:

Hey guys I am 75 and still enjoy a gooe whack now and again. I can't keep up with daily anymore but do enjoy about once a week. I have erection prob these days so that may contribute to it.

Oldbodybuilder, Get a PSA, (prostate specific antigens) blood test on your next trip to your doctor. If you get a safe reading in his opinion, ask if it would be safe for you to have regular injections of testosterone. If he (or she) says yes and that you submit to the injections (mine are every fourteen days), I'll guarantee that you will be "whacking" more than once a week---more like once a day as it is in my case, and I am older than you are. Studies show that older men who have ejaculated frequently during their lifetimes have the lowest rate of prostate cancer.

I am 45 and I still masturbate and I too think it's healthy. I vary from as much as twice a day when reall horny to 2-3 times a week when not so horny.

As someone else stated in this thread I also had guilty feelings about it for years due to religious beliefs. I used to masturbate quickly just to relieve the "pressure" when I couldn't stand it anymore.

I have now gotten over the guilt and actually enjoy it a lot. I just have to be who I am and not who somebody else wants me to be.

Not only does it keep everything in great working order and keep the "pipes" open, but it is good for the prostate. Keeping an active sex life, either through sex or masterbation, exercises the prostate and keep it from getting enlarged - which can cause major issues as men age.

I am 50 and I love wanking. I usually do it 3 to 4 times a week depending on my mood, and my spare time. The good thing about being "mature" is that I have more control over edging and can last longer with my erection. My cum volume is lower than when I was younger but my orgasms are still great, albeit shorter.

Since my divorce 2 years ago masturbation has been my primary outlet. I have had sex, but really am not into casual sex and do not at this point want a relationship.
The other night after jerking off I thought to myself how many other 40 year old men jerk off--thanks to this site I know I am not alone!

This is soooo cool. Very, very positively inspiring and well put.

I'm 64 and have sex usually 3-5 times a week, usually in the morning as I'm stiffer then and my sweetie prefers it then too. I still wank several times a week too, as it's just a different feeling that I'd miss. I think the 'use it or lose it' thing is true.

I've never before mentioned this, but ToolMan is an Insulin-dependant Diabetic. :frown:

Although he is only 42, I think it's very healthy for him to have lots of sex and orgasms. He gets enough from me that he doesn't need to masturbate much, but I know he does it if I'm not available for some reason.

One of the worst long-term effects of diabetes is decreased capillary circulation. This can ultimately cause blindness, neuropathy, and erectile dysfunction, among many other problems.

I'm hoping that by giving his cock good, regular workouts, we are keeping the circulation in good working order, so that his "tool" will be powerful for many years to come (cum?)

So far, so good! :biggrin1:

I am also an Insulin-dependant Diabetic. (I suspect there are more of us at LPSG!) For all the reasons Chrysalis listed above, it is life altering and destructive. I would like to say so far, so good.

Toolman, I wish you many years free of complications.

Here's something I wrote months ago on the subject. If nothing else, it is good for a laugh—unfortunately, at my expense!:biggrin1: Sam.

The post you referenced is insightful, helpful, and funny.

Thank you for sharing it with us. I'm glad to know we're not alone in the land of uncertain futures...

But we're not going to take it lying down (okay, maybe we will, but tonight it was lying down, then lying down another way, then another way, then standing up, then on my knees, then lying down yet a different way, then getting in the shower, then getting out, then standing up again...) :biggrin1:

So far, so good. :biggrin1: :biggrin1: :biggrin1:
