I have lots of friends; but none of us evoke these privileges. Most of my friends are happily married or have girlfriend / s. So being away for a day or so is no big thing. You just make up for lost time when you get back .
Better yet when we go away for a few days, in my group it is mandatory that you bother your wife of GF for sex on your return. Women often thing that if you have gone without it for a while and you come back not horny you had some fun while you were away and that would put an end to guy time.

I feel like lpsg forum has gotten really catty and judgemental. I asked a vulnerable question that may not be normal but all a I get is sarcasm and judgement back. It's a lot of intensity. Lpsg used to be a friendly place where people responded to each others ideas I want that back. So my experience is different, don't hate me or judge me, respond with respect even if you don't agree or have the same experience.
It is really tempting to use your alaska location make the penguin joke where you get to have sex once a year and it is really sad if you have a headache that night. It is really tempting to be humorous and ignore the original message.
I echo the concern about judgmental stuff - maybe we should be directing people to Dan Savage's columns instead of this site. oh puh-leeze.... i think people are reacting the way that they do because this is a really odd question.... when i first read the topic, i figured this thread was going to be about some form of chastity or orgasm control, and was taken off guard to read the OP..... nobody has to get all sensitive about this topic; it's ONLY masturbation.... it's really not something that anyone has to take very seriously....

I have friends that I could tell that I need to go beat off. I would not whip it in front of them though. The conversation would have to lead there too. Can't just be talking politics and say that. I think people forget that sex is a part of the human experience, making masturbation a biological function. You don't shame people for needing to go to the bathroom, do you? People need to evacuate their waste, it's a part of being a live.
