Your sore could be an ingrown hair or abrasion, but it sounds a lot like HPV or possibly MCV. These are both very common viral infections, which produce wart-like bumps. In general, they are not particularly harmful (in men, at least), and will usually go away by themselves. However, HPV is implicated as one of the contibuting factors to cervical cancer in women. There are also some natural, healthy, conditions that can give rise to bumpy skin on the penis.

If the white spot in the center seems to be more of a tiny solid lump than puss, it might be HPV. If the sore eventually develops a little pit or depression in the center, it might be MCV. In neither case is the bump painful. Again, if you do have one of these, neither one is someting to get seriously worried about, but you do want to take precautions about spreading them by contact, not only to others, but also to different areas of your body. MCV will generally self-resolve. HPV sometimes goes away by itself, or it may be necessary (or speed things up) to have the warts removed.

-It's good you're "watching out" for the ALL the possibilities...but the idea about "friction burn" is NOT all that far fetched!

I've had a few instances in my time that resemble what you describe--a swollen, redden area with a "distinctive whitish center" on the side of the shaft and it's proven to be an accumulation of lymph beneath the skin...(similar to a water blister.) It doesn't always appear to be such a simple matter, though I grant you!
I've had those areas "nickel size" a few times over a few days. I had no choice but "change my plans" during those times!

You're right....what you describe can be kinda "scary looking" to a guy and it IS indeed sore to the touch when it occurs. "Easing up on the action" should allow the symptoms to subside in about three to four days. The lymph fluid is eventually absorbed/carried away "elsewhere" on its own. I've had this symptom more than once ([particularly from concentrated jelqing) which has been a warning for me to start taking things a bit easier!

If I were you, I'd wait a few more days before getting too overly worried.
