EVERYONE masturbates. Even girls. Whoever says they don't is lying. And I blame this shame for something so natural on the Judeo-Christian religions because they say that masturbation is bad. I also blame our modern day society for like, making a woman who acknowledges her sexuality a slut. A dude sleeps with 10 chicks within a 3 day period, he's like, treated as a god. Now, if a chick were to even have 2 different partners within 2 days, he's called a slut, a whore. I think it's a totally wrong double standard. I've said it in another topic, but we, as humans, are sexual. If you have hang ups about yer own insecurities, then fine. But don't be an ass and like, put others down because you don't know how to enjoy life.


Sorry for the rant and goin off on a tangent guys. But like, that double standard, along with the Judeo-Christian mindset that sexuality and pre-marital sex is bad, really ticks me off. Don't get me wrong. I have like, no problem with most people that come from Judeo-Christian religions. But there are those ass-backawards Fundies who need to realize we live in the 21st Century. I admire people who have faith in any religion, but a lot of people need to understand that:

- the Bible was written by man, and has been changed SO many times it's unreal
- just because yer one religion, doesn't mean everyone around you has to be *cough*PresidentBush*

I think it's a little simplistic to assume everyone masturbates - a heck of a lot of people do (and now, more than ever, are willing to admit to it), but there are absolutely guys and girls out there who don't do it (either because they don't have any sexual feelings, they have intense self-control etc). But they are very much the exception that proves the rule.

Still, I'm pretty sure everyone who's an LPSG member has.

I heavily doubt yer friend has never done it. Also, the guy that ranted has a name I&#39;m not saying it&#39;s wrong to follow to any kind of book that embodies yer religion (be it the Torah, the Qu&#39;ran, the Bible, etc). However, people need to learn that those books are very outdated, and that they&#39;ve been changed SO much from the original document. Now, why are you trying to stop? Because the Bible says it&#39;s a sin? Do you have a girlfriend that can help with the release?

Jerking off is more than just pleasurable. It helps prevent prostate cancer, it relieves stress, it helps you to get to know yer body better and what turns ya on, and where yer errogenous (sp?) zones are. I can go on and on about the benefits. I mean, of course, it&#39;s entirely up to you, but I just don&#39;t understand why.

That&#39;s a pretty dangerous attitude, thinking the only reason people aren&#39;t doing the same thing as you because of a rather vague notion of &#39;taboo&#39;. By that logic, you could argue the only reason all men don&#39;t have homosexual leanings is because it&#39;s taboo, or that the only reason we don&#39;t walk down the street naked is &#39;taboo&#39;.

What&#39;s more, you could easily live by the Bible and still masturbate (Onan being struck down because of disobedience rather than jerking off) or have be an atheist who chooses not to.

Obviously jerking off shouldn&#39;t be a taboo and everyone should be free to do what they want to. But the fundie line that &#39;no-one should&#39; and the liberal line that &#39;everyone must&#39; are equally ridiculous.

To be perfectly honest, the Bible never mentions masturbation. Onan&#39;s act was coitus interruptus, not masturbation.
