Well... I follow these types of people just to get news, to know about their movements. And I don't support them. So... he must have his reasons. That doesn't necessarily mean he supports them.

Likewise. Surely it’s important to hear the opinions of others? I follow lots of people on Twitter etc who I frequently disagree with but I feel that the world is a better place if we keep our minds open to potentially be changed if we are wrong.

I've followed Matt since 04 when he started out doing Manhunt. He's always been notoriously quiet about his politics. That said, social media over the years has revealed a little into that. I've noticed he does follow some conservative things, but also follows some liberal things as well. On a rare occasion, he would retweet something on twitter (when he used it more) that was fairly moderate.

From his old podcast with his wife, it was quite clear that he's fairly laid back on most things. It's the wife that leans more conservative (and from who she used to follow on her twitter, it's very obvious).

As for pro-gay things, his old social circle when first lived in LA was pretty much all gay/bi men. And he has 'liked' pro-gay things on instagram, including posts of a fellow celeb and his husband getting married (with other couples pics as well).

Agreed. He knew what he was getting into when he married her. I think it was his mom that introduced him to her. They attended the same Church.

But before meeting her. Matt was very active in the LA social scene (going to bars, events/parties, gay friends, etc). This pretty much stopped completely when he met his wife.

Some of it is definitely here. But I will never blame Matt's wife for his career decisions. It was his choice.

The only influence she may have had is making him a bit more conservative (not in a political way), which influences some of the movies/TV shows he pursues. But that's most men though. Men have to change a bit once they get married. Not a bad thing since some men need to change their ways. My Dad for example quit smoking and drinking after getting married. But in the end it's his choice.
