I know two guys who have hooked up with him and I've met him myself a few times (no, I neither hooked up with him nor attempted to... personalitywise he isn't my type and I can guarantee I am physically not his).
He seems to be somewhat complicated or at least mercurial since people have very different impressions of him.
Things that are true: he is very much a power bottom. It appears to be true that he doesn't send dick pics since at least one of the guys who fucked him will routinely share pics of his conquests with me and had nothing to offer.
Things that aren't true: he is neither shy nor insecure, or rather he is insecure but like most insecure men he overcompensates in the other direction. I don't think it is a surprise that he is very self-obsessed bodywise and in other ways. He has an ego, thinks he's more famous than he actually is, and acts hat way. He gets away with it because his friends are fellow travelers.
While I wouldn't go so far as to call him Mean Girl, he is the type who is liked by Mean Girls and associates with Mean Girls. He can be very salty...almost always toward lower-status people. He punches down more often than he punches up. As far as I can tell he is the kind of gay who is beloved mainly by straight women (I don't think we're allowed to say "fag hag" anymore), drag queens, and other "sassy" people but doesn't necessarily have a diverse group of gay male friends because that's not how gay cliques work. I don't have any stories of him being directly hostile to low-status types but...he isn't particularly interested in them.
He's gay-funny but the reason he isn't more famous isn't just because he's gay, he just isn't a top-tier comic. His material is limited and not especially groundbreaking. Frankly, older gay comics like Rick Crom outshine him in every way but they don't have audience members coming because of thirst trap photos.
So, he's just your basic New York gay...he's 36 so he's approaching his sell by date in the community..always curious to see what happens when these guys get older. Sometimes it grounds them and sometimes they just delude themselves and never change.

His material is limited because it is the same 5 jokes for the past 3 years. Listen to his podcast, it is the same boring stories about his family (who are not as entertaining as he thinks they are) and nonstop talking about carbonara pasta.
I mean, that's fine and almost fair. But you seem to have missed the whole part about how I've personally interacted with him more than once so I dunno. It's not the most flattering description but I made it clear it was my personal experience and that other folks have had different ones; people come to these forums asking if anyone has ever met any of these folks and in this case I have. No one has to agree with me, or like me.
At the very least I wanted to answer the question that has been repeated umpteen times about whether there are any dick pics floating around. As far as I know that is very unlikely.

But if people can’t be toxic about the things they actively dislike (or, more likely, are jealous of) then how will they get validation via goading strangers online, which they clearly need to exist?

A lot of this commentary feels mean for the sake of being mean. Ok, you don’t like him. Or maybe he ignites a particular self loathing within you. Fine. Write about it in your diary, or talk to your therapist. You don’t have to write about it in a public forum that you know he reads. Your need to be seen and your need to hurt him from behind the veil of anonymity—it’s not a good look
