It is 20-fucking-19, folks. HIV is not the death sentence it once was. People with it who are taking treatment are living full lives, decades longer than people ever did in the 80s and 90s. PrEP has a 92% effective rate, and since it was made available to the public, there have only been 7 cases of people worldwide on the pill who have contracted the virus. You are much more likely to contract syphilis or gonorrhea (both highly treatable) through bareback sex these days than HIV, so if we wanna talk STIs, let's talk about those too, and maybe lay off perpetuating the shaming and stigmatizing of HIV+ folks.
