Well then.... What about the other 7%?

i forgot about that i was gonna say something about people from other countries but that might've been viewed as disrespectful so i left it out. and screw you by the way, i caught it three seconds after you responded, too late to edit. wait, why are you speaking to a dead body?? the 08 election is SO FUCKING AWESOME it overloaded my system and caused me to spontaneously combust. please, don't read a eulogy at my funeral, just give everybody a recap of the latest primary and when they bury me lead the crowd in singing that catchy-ass rihanna song 'umbrella'. oh yeah, on the way home from my funeral talk about the election some more or you're an anti-american terrorist.

Yeh. I used to think Hillary was the worst choice of the three, but when "news" of Al Qaeda in Iraq sprang up pretty much the same day that McCain was declared front runner, that was just a little too suspicious. Sure, there may be alarming activity going on in Iran, but that doesn't mean it's Al Qaeda. So either he thinks that every militant uprising in the Western Hemisphere not connected to the Orient is Al Qaeda, or he thinks the only way to get the people's support in striking against such is to slap that name on it. Either way: douchin' it up.

Should I put the final poll results on your urn of ashes as well, along with a subtext addressing whether or not the difference was a two digit number?

I find it all very fascinating, in a very positive way. I've always been interested in politics (Canadian and American). There seems to be a great deal more interest in this election than we've seen in a long time. I wish Canadian elections were as interesting.

Geez......
(ducking the barbs here)

I know I haven't been here in awhile but I had no idea that so many threads have been hijacked by politics.....that's a sad thing.

In addition to the "misc." board here why not add a politics board.....and insist (enforce) everyone keep the political "discussions" there.

But...
Since we have politics in this thread anyway.....
No one should vote for anybody solely because of their gender or color.
That's asinine.
Stick to issues.
Plus, who has enough experience.
Who sounds good and looks good but not enough experience ?
The presidency is Not a trial run, internship, or rehearsal.

Since I'm not happy with any of the choices, maybe I'll just write in someone fun like Carlos Mencia.
Heh heh....J/K....(sorry, Carlos)

One thing is for certain.
I Will be voting in November.

This election is not as exhausting as the last one was for me. I was given a paid leave of absence to Voulenteer for Kerry I spent a whole year on the trail doing legal mumbo jumbo...As far as this one goes...my boyfriend begged me not to discuss it in any private or public fourm, except with each other at home. So I'm signing off for now on this until it's ovah!

that was an extremely uncalled for. as far as myself, i didn't say we don't pay attention to the election, i'm sick of people arguing over it CONSTANTLY, especially since the arguments are based little on the reality of the election and more what the poster wants to happen, which is often less approving of a candidate, but disapproving another for stupid reasons

ie barack shouldn't be a president cuz he's black

hilary shouldn't be a president because she's a woman

your well-constructed post sprinkled with senior-year-of-high-school vocabulary to cover up 3rd grade opinions is ridiculous. you basically used big words to bash someone else for having an opinion. i love football but if its on every news station and all my friends are talking about it and my sister calls me to discuss it, i have every right to get annoyed. your arrogance is disheartening because apparently, unless you're sick of something, no one is allowed to be. relax, this is a penis site, no need to crack out your thesaurus and start caling people names. just because they're not four-letter words doesn't mean they're not rude. you can put all the make-up you want on a pig, still a pig, your post is wearing WAAAY too much liner honey. take the make-up off and say what you really mean. you're better than us so your opinion is correct and ours, because it's different, is irrelevant.

why did you feel the need to post this and PM me the exact same thing?

He might have been worried that you're monopolizing the state of douchebaggery...?

Kudos on your earlier post on this thread...took the words right from my mouth.
Which means I get to stuff something in yours, right?

To paraphrase one of my earlier posts: people need to shut the fuck up and simply vote for who they believe is the best candidate for running their country of residence. That's all there is to it.

you don't think dialogue-- even arguments and senseless ranting sometimes-- isn't a good thing? is that how you think important decisions should be made-- with no discussion? the reason why this election is all over everywhere is because it's important to people because the US is in the middle of costly a war where people are getting injured and dying every day and our economy is trashed. this election should be on everyone's minds, because we have serious problems in the US. we need to have a national dialogue on where the US is heading because it directly affects our quality of life. the unwillingness to openly discuss and exchange ideas combined with the apathy of our young people is how our country elected george bush and why the religious right has dominated US politics for so many years.

I think the democrats are going to be regretting the whole recount fiasco with Bush, because you know Hillary already has her army of lawyers ready for that when she loses the primary. Only this time though, I really do think she'll succeed in stealing it away from Obama over some technicality.

I was generalising, but my problem is more to do with the type of dialogue.
There are some good discussions and debates going but unfortunately they seem to a vast minority. The focus so often seems to be on what's negative about the other party, rather than what's positive about ones' own party.
If we move the analogy from politics to friendship, then people who try and find the flaws in others for them to look down upon so they themselves feel better, usually don't have many friends at all. That's precisely what I see from all political camps. As notorious as political mud-slinging can be, I've always found supporters to partake in much more embarassing behaviour than the administration they're supposedly supporting. (Though usually having an opposite affect than what they intend.)

These are all threads made about candidate/party A, created by supporters for candidate/party B. They do nothing but attack the opposition, and consequently damage their own candidate. None intended to be reasonable or respectable debates. (Off the top of my head whilst searching LPSG, that's around 65-80% of all threads with "Obama" or "Hillary" in the title.)
While some do contain within them reasonable discussion for brief periods, they have unfortunately been against the intention of those threads.

It's embarrassing behaviour, most often fueled by fear of the opponent's strength or the fear of their own [candidates'] weakness. It often comes accompanied with a narrow-minded anger that not eveyrone is of the same opinion, too. If someone's opinion will not be swayed by their own researching and reading of each candidates' policies and reputation, then chances are that petty forum fueds won't either.

On a personal note, if I see people behaving in this way who are in favour of a candidate that I am, it can sometimes cause me to rethink my allegiance; if by my endorsing a candidate it makes me rub shoulders with those kind of people it's not something I want to be a part of.
Look what happened to Ron Pauls' momentum after the whole neo-nazi/white power debacle(whether it was 'true' or not).
If I had a vote and was to choose the lesser of evils (which an election always is) it would probably be Obama; I don't like Hillary's view on healthcare. I don't like admitting that around here with the behaviour of other pro-Obama members, though - it makes me ashamed to be associated with them in any way.

No Strings, I applaud you. :hail:

You may want to post this on the recently regurgitated "Hillary Cares Nothing About Democracy" thread before it somehow sucks the life out of this board again.
