Yeah, honestly, I'm never a fan of the crop and paste on a 2D photo, there's just a lot more you have to account for like angles, positioning etc. that it can't help you with. It's hard sometimes to "prove" these estimates. Often times they are more of a precise educated estimate as opposed to being proven without a doubt to be an exact, certain size.
