Because there’s no definite point as to where shaft meets pubic area. It’s bogus for the same reason “width” of a dick, where people measure across from undefined spot to undefined spot is bogus. I’m only bringing up NBP because if you’re open to a less than perfect measure like that there’s no reason you should be opposed to a soft tape measure.
NBP is no where near as unreliable as you're trying to say it is.

I was thinking he's more like 6.75-7BP since he looks skinny but not that lean, but of course this is if he's 6.25NBP.

Basically, bone-pressed (BP) length measurements are pressed against the pubic bone, pushing in the fat pad. Non bone-pressed (NBP) studies don't do this, instead they measure length in front of the uncompressed fat pad. For example, person A has 6" of BP length and a 1" fat pad, while person B has 7" of BP length but 3" of fat pad. This means that the NBP measurements will be 5" for person A and 4" for person B. When comparing using NBP length, the only thing that made person B smaller than person A, is his larger fat pad. BP length controls for fat pad differences by approximating a scenario in which both were to lose their excess weight, allowing the true difference of penis size to be observed.
I would say he's 8,25*5,25 when maxed out.

Yes for overall consistency bone pressed is easier but in this thread we have been talking about visible length which is non bone pressed and most pornstats are in good shape so they won't have an inch fat pad.

Yep. I actually have more variability measuring my own BP and not NBP. BP you can also cheat or under-measure depending on where in groin measured, or how hard you press. I’m 7.0 BP but I push ruler fairly strong. If doctor in a study did it and was scared to push, they might get 6.5-6.75

Literally if NBP is not as consistent, it’s not as accurate. The non-consistency you are referring to is in the accuracy of the measurement. If you don’t start at the same spot or if the guy puts on a lot of weight suddenly his dick is an inch shorter, when it’s actually exactly the same size as it always was based on BP. SO, yes, I get the practicality of using NBP here. They are very different. Length is by definition a one dimensional measurement. Only rulers measure in one dimension. Tapes in two.
I will say this again, when you measure your height, do you stand against a straight line (scale) and measure, or do you put a soft tape all along the curvature of your body? Exact same idea with dicks.
If the bone is the limit the ruler won’t go past it. So I think everyone should push firm. Not to the point of pain or injury but make sure the ruler presses in all the fat.
