    Hey all,

I'm new, I have a large penis, based on comparison in the pool locker room/the guys I've fooled around with/porn, but I'm really not into measuring it.

I keep reading on the board about like 7.5-8, 10.2 etc. I feel like this is pretty self-absorbed and I'm shocked at how standard it is -- I hate when people ask me how big it is. I'm not trying to put myself above this or anything, I can kind of understand the rationale. I mean, height and waist measurement an so on are all very important measurements too, but I feel like there's always the inflation (my best friend Kevin is definitely not 7 inches if I know what 7 inches looks like) and the anxiousness, especially on the part of guys with big dongs, to be asked the question.

But seriously, what's the difference between 10.2 and 10 anyways? 2%? The same difference between $500 and $501.

Again, I know I'm coming across as if I'm criticizing, but I'm actually just looking for some insight.

I don't really get it either. I know how big I am, but it's none of anyone else's business. And claims on the internet are for the most part unverifiable, anyway, so why bother making them?

That said, this is a support group. People here want to compare experiences, ask for advice re: size-related problems, and just make conversation, for that matter. It's bound to come up. And a fairly small size difference can be a big deal, sometimes (i.e. condoms).

I take from this group what I'm interested in reading, and ignore everything else.

Here's the thing, guys. We have a lot of members whose standard of measurement is in centimeters/millimeters. When they convert their common measurements to inches they often get 10ths of an inch. So they aren't being silly - it's in the conversion.

That's a good point. Inches aren't the best way to measure a penis. 20 cm and 8 inches are pretty close so it doesn't much affect me. That said, I think everybody has the right to use the definition they feel most comfortable with. If the extra two tenths of inch makes a difference in their mind then, hey, who are we to judge?

Why, yes, 10 to 10.2 is a 2% increase. However, a 2% increas on $500 is $510. Just had to say. Obsessive compulsive disorder, I guess.

Well, back to point. For some, knowing numbers is good and exchanging can be nice, even an icebreaker in the chat if you really can't think of anything to say. If it doesn't tickle your pickle when people ask, okay. That's understandable. But hey, if you ever wanna know about someone else, you can use your stats to barter for his.

And about the exaggeration, yeah, it sucks, but not everyone measures the same way anyway, so who knows if the extra length added isn't more accurate anyway? Ball park figure really. Cheers.

Being British, half of us still work in inches, half of us work almost exclusively in the almighty metric system. Why oh why anyone still works in inches is beyond me, but overal the vast majority of people on this site do. So that's why my measurements are so precise...

This illustration spells out the correct measurement process quite well:

While taking your photo, refer to the accompanying illustration, keeping the following points in mind; [IMG]

    • try to use a cloth or other flexible tape measure
    • the tape measure may be in either inches or centimeters/millimeters
    • your penis must be maximally erect and held perpendicular to your abdomen
    • keep the measure as taunt as possible against the penis
    • the measure should be placed directly on top of the penis, and not to the side
    • ensure that the entire penis is included in the photo, from the base to the tip of the head
    • make sure that the picture is close enough, and clear enough, to unequivocally shown the precise length
    • if you wish, you may also take a flaccid and/or erect circumference measurement shot.
