As an active member of the community, it has become clear that the liberal media and the democratic campaign platform have caused both physical and mental illness throughout society in recent weeks.

Panic-selling in the financial markets, excessive drinking in normally-mundane communities, corporate layoffs, spikes in hospital admissions and increases in crime and violence are all results of the liberal media machine bringing crisis, controversy and despair into America's living rooms.

This harmful assault on American society is wreaking havoc on the physical and mental health of our communities.

May I remind the liberals of the little boy who cried "wolf?"

Introducing a political agenda is one thing, but inciting panic and promoting helplessness and Armageddon has harmful and destructive implications on all societies.

If the liberal media can focus on issues and choices instead of exploring the 'end of the world' and the prospect of returning to the caveman age, the mental and physical health of our communities would remain intact and rational.

It is healthy and enjoyable to discuss and debate politics, however, when you hear screaming and fighting from your neighbors and see empty beer cans strewn about town it is disconcerting and sad to observe the result of the media's virus injection into the USA.

Shooting the messenger will not solve the problems created by greed, dishonesty and mismanagement.

Discarded beer cans? Fighting and screaming? That sounds like the kind of neighborhood festooned with McCain/Palin yard signs.

I think you are becoming delusional. Ever since CNN came to be, television news departments and all-news channels have been run as profit centers. This means that ratings take the place of quality journalism.

Having been involved in the broadcast industry when this was just starting to happen, I can tell you that the mantra of every news director was "If it bleeds it leads", meaning that the stories you choose to report should be the most dramatic stories you can find.

So yes, there is an agenda on American news channels, but that agenda is profit. If you think back to the begining of the Iraq War, for example, there was not one news channel that was not flag waving in the studio and did not have reports from their embedded newsmen in the various battallions.

It wasn't until Katrina provided a new kind of dramatic story and visual did the news media start its new feeding frenzy that was critical of the Bush administration.

If you think you can watch Fox news, for example, and not see stories about credit market failure, stock market collapse, and recession, then you should spend some time on that right leaning channel.

A true sceptic usually looks towards incompetence, or greed as a motivation before he decides that something is being driven by a conspiracy of ideology. At the present, you don't have to look much farther than a ratings race to understand the agenda of the media.

If you think there is a more overriding agenda beyond profit motive that determines what goes on the air on the newschannels, you probably should invest in a tin-foil hat to keep the secret rays out of your brain.

Just curious here. What Physical and mental illness are we talking about?

Bush Derangment Syndrome, while coined by Hannity, is NOT an actuall illness. Please give specifics as to what physical and mental illness you are talking about.

For the most part, I do agree with the spirit of what you are saying, but when it comes to HARD FACTS, please elaborate.

This next part goes to BOTH sides of the political spectrum, here.

Vomitting theories and personal feelings as facts does nothing to help either side. Either back it up with evidence or keep it to yourself.

Conservatives should spend some of their money on their own television networks and newspapers. If the current media is so liberal and they can't get their voices across, then they should come up with their own solutions. They can adapt to the "sink or swim" mentality when it comes to the economics and finances of those less fortunate, so why can't they do this here?

It's not as if they don't have the money.

If only Fox News were the sole news source in the US, then there would never have been a financial crisis!

Starinvestor, if a cartoon character said the things that you say, people would say that the character was drawn in so heavy-handed a fashion as to be unbelievable even as a satirical caricature.

Well stated and, unfortunately, so true.
