I'm just wondering, a few of my mates have started to get into meditation and/or yoga, how many of u would recommend it? They say it's good for their mental health. Just looking for opinions from both men and women tbh. Thanks

It can be quite nice. But different yoga instructors have different styles.
Perhaps it's nice to try some of the out, go to the classes where some of your mates already go?

It's relaxing and healthy. Like going for a run.

I use a calm app at home for meditation - it does help me switch off and unwind. Use it every few days. Worked so well at times I’ve fell asleep.

Don’t do yoga but do stretch and work on my flexibility which I guess is part of the physical aspects of yogo.

Sure I'll find out more from them, I thought they just did it themselves I didn't even consider classes or anything lol thanks

It's all about the instructor or app. It can go either way. I LOVE the idea of nude yoga, but the only place in my area if for gay men to hit on each other, which is too bad, since that isn't why I would go.
Haha yeah I was really just looking at it as something to relieve stress idk I was just curious how others felt but I'll look into it more and find out more from my mates thanks for the reply though

I recommend it highly... and daily. :emoji_cartwheel: (there's no yoga emoji so the cartwheel will have to do ;)).

I've been doing for almost forty years. I taught it for a while and occasionally sub for a teacher I know. Can't imagine life without it.

Wife is the yoga queen so I can't comment. But meditation is my thing. Over the course of 10 years now, I still stick to the basics: Breath in... Breath out... Be present... Come back to breath...
Find a guided meditation group to join in. It's a great way to learn. I've been with a group since I started.

I went through a phase of meditating but unfortunately haven't been able to make it a regular habit. It is very helpful for mental health, I'd also recommend psychedelics and mindfulness to get your ego under control.

I've been doing yoga for 18 years and can't imagine life without it.

Classes are very important to get started because most people are so unaware of all of the muscles involved in even the simplest poses and a teacher can give you both verbal and physical touching cues.

There are many different schools of yoga. I began with Ashtanga (6 years) which is physically demanding and very focused on breath control. Then I did Power Yoga (another 6 years) which was very fast and even more demanding--I must have sweated 8 oz or more every time. Great for stamina! Then after a non-yoga knee injury and at age 62, I began Iyengar yoga which is very slow but deeply focused and intense; my poses were really perfected in Iyengar and their teachers are the best trained.

When my beloved Iyengar teacher moved away 2 years ago, I finally felt that I no longer needed a teacher on a continuing basis. I go to my gym several times a week and find a quiet corner for 1 hour+ of yoga. I'm now 68 and almost always a 20-something guy will come over and ask questions or say how amazing it was to watch me.

There's some meditation involved in most yoga practices, but it was the app: Waking Up that helped me become more devoted to meditation. There are many different flavors of mindfulness to sample in this app.

Highly recommend it. Been my main form of exercise and weightless strength training and I'm down 17 lbs in the last year, my balance is better, my abs and ass look AMAZING, and I do think it has great mental health benefits to boot.

I feel stronger, healthier, and sexier since I picked up yoga. Also my stamina in bed is much better. Can't recommend it more!
