Are thinking of the other libel suit that she won against Daily Mail? I believe her win against Daily Telegraph is recent. My apologies if I am mistaken.

Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper apologises 'unreservedly', pays 'substantial' damages to Melania Trump over false report - Donald Trump's America - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

I may be wrong about that - I assumed which is always a mistake, still I stand on my original answer. This has nothing to do with truth in journalism and everything to do with well intended but poorly drafted libel laws. It is more about truth suppression than anything else - and grabbing money.

It is true that she was a successful model, good that the telegraph acknowledged that. I saw some of those lady on lady pics, interesting.

That's an underhanded dig. Was that a "tolerant" comment to make? Would it be ok if someone made such a comment about a picture of you and your boyfriend? Is it "Tolerance is for me, not for thee."?

They called her a whore. I'm pretty sure a fictitious claim like that wouldn't make it in the U.S. either.

First off, it was not her girlfriend in the pics with her, just another soft core porn model so it has no relationship to a photo of me with a boyfriend. Secondly, I did not condemn the photo shoot, I just find the photos interesting and since the retraction from the newspaper in the libel suit mentioned her "successful" modeling career I found it worthy of a mention here. Just trying to stay on topic.

She looks pretty in all the photos...

I'm not sure if she's a whore or not, I'd need more information. She could be a whore though, more likely past tense. I doubt she'd still be a whore.

The law in the US relating to public figures is this - the statement must be false, AND the publisher had to know it was false, AND knowing that it was false published it anyway with intent to harm and slander. That is actually a high bar to reach for judgement in the US. If a publisher says, well a source told us this so we thought it was relevant, that pretty much ends libel. If the standard Mrs. Trump won her case on was in effect here, Barrack Obama would be the richest man in the world and conservative media as it exists now would be gone. Just on the birther issue alone, which Trump's indicted pal Jerome Corsi invented and he used for years there would be billions to be had.
