I’m sitting here thinking about a neighbor who had a skunk as a pet. I remember running from it. Then being laughed at. And watching the neighbor pick him up. Stinker was his name.... It took me a grip but I did hold him, having a skunk on your lap is a strange experience - feeling his nose on you cheek sniffing is beyond measure.
We lived in upstate NY in the Catskill Mountains
Captain Kangaroo lived just a mile down the road.
So seeing animals out of their natural habitat wasn’t abnormal.
Thanks for bringing memories back, that is why I love each one of you!! (Nothing to do with any size!! XX)
Outside of Fayetteville, AR, was a tiger “sanctuary.” Focused on white tigers, and lion and tiger hybrids, both kinds. Tigons and Ligers. Turns out she was breeding them, by we were ignorant of that fact when we donated to her cause.
She was so taken by us, she brought us into a building and placed Ducky, a two month old tiger cub in my then husband’s lap.
A two month old can dismember a dog. His claws and paws were impressive.
Ducky was so comfortable and relaxed, he peed on my ex.
It’s still one of his favorite stories.
