I agree completely with buzzrider! It is a bonding experience for males to be naked together in a non-sexual setting. There used to be a lot more places where this could happen than there are today.

There was a time when the YMCA was for males only, and they all swam naked! Those who remember those days say they were wonderful!

There have also been other locker room experiences in which men were naked together in the steam-room, sauna, whirlpool, for long periods, and everyone was perfectly relaxed.

I evan made a few good friends in those places, and we had never seen each other except when we were totally naked! Once, I met one of these friends on the street and it took a while for us to realize we knew each other. Then we laughed about "not recognizing you with your clothes on!"

It is too bad that this new generation of males is growing-up without having these kinds of experiences. All young males need to see older males naked, and in completely safe and honest settings!

My Y used to be that way, but not anymore, Cos Y requried all members wear swimsuite in whirlpool and a towel in sauna. Guys can't really hang out nude anymore, its a Shame!!

Both places serve food and alcohol very nice and relaxing!!!

I've been to JeJu twice and will definitely go back. It's a great place just to relax naked without any sexual overtones but guys do check each other out and I've seen semis in the steam room. It's amazing the mix of guys, from 20 somethings to older guys like myself and everyone is very relaxed with nudity etc.

Kabuki springs in San francisco is great, a quality place to relax nude with other naked guys without having to worry about sex - there is none. when i was there a guy came in wearing shorts, after a while he disappeared, i'm not sure whether all the naked flesh was too much for him particularly all the naked guys looking at him - because he was clothes - or he realised that nude was the way to go and just joined in.

otherwise, go to any sauna in finland and the men - of all ages -will be hanging out nude, in germany and holland they'll be nude as well, but there will be ladies there too.

A gym I belong to used to allow nude dry sauna but closed it down because a couple of guys were doing what is meant to do in the privacy of their homes. Now we have co-ed dry sauna on the deck of the swimming pool room. The Y I go to requires bathing suits/shorts in the hot tub, steam room and dry sauna for the same reason. Some guys who can't control themselves ruin it for everyone else.

Unfortunately that is true - its ironic that now there are lots of gay saunas some guys can't distinguish them from non gay ones and just enjoy being naked (and having sex off site later)

I've been naked at my YMCA's dry sauna and steam rooms. Most guys wear towels, but occasionally a nudie comes in. So far no complaints from others or the staff, but I think some get a little uncomfortable and leave earlier than they had planned.

So true. I was always ok with nudity. An ex GF and I use to go to a nudist site in the GA mountains years ago and it was so freeing. I loved it. I went alone a few times and walking the trails I discovered men being men. That was cool too.

Then moving to Europe really opened things for me. Guys can actually get naked together without any sexual overtones. No one plays or attempts to play in the sauna or steam room like here in the US. Not sure why either. Only once in Berlin did a guy start rubbing himself as I sat across from him in a sauna. He started speaking German and I told him I didn't understand. He switched to English and we had a decent conversation. Afterwards, we met outside and went to his place. But nothing happened in the sauna itself.

For anybody visiting the NorCal area, I highly recommend Harbin Hot Springs. It's an outdoor hot springs set in the mountains with most everybody naked in all the outdoor areas (springs, sun deck, lawn, hiking trails, etc.) It's mixed gender, but still cool to see people just chilling out having conversations, meeting each other, sharing food, etc. all naked.
There is also Kabuki, a Japanese spa in downtown SF that has a very classy feel to it. They have a firm no-sex-activity policy, so it's low-key chill naked time, just men or just women, depending on the day of the week. There is also the hot tub on the deck at my house. ;-) I have lots of male friends who come over to just chill in the buff in the hot tub, chat, drink, bond - in other words just have good ol' naked man-time together. Also non-sexual since most of my male friends are not into guys. I personally prefer that kind of brotherly naked male bonding to something with sexual overtones.

We should come visit :biggrin1: Although that "non-sexual" clause would be a tough rule to follow :wink:

Spent the day talking with a cool straight guy from Vancouver BC and it ways never sexual. Just very freeing and it really set the tone for the rest of my week there.

In the Boston area, I go to Inman Oasis and Dillon's Russian Steam Bath. Both are great, but Inman allows private hot tub rentals where you can plug in your phone and have your own music set lists played. Both are great fun.

There's a Russian-style baths in London too. New Docklands Steam Baths | London I much prefer it to the gay saunas. Apart from the nakedness and cameraderie, they have properly hot steamrooms and saunas and a cold plunge-pool.

Burning Man is in a class of its own. Lots of naked people but in ways you wouldn't expect. Tremendous amount of creativity in clothing and lack of it. But of course the whole experience is something that can't be described very well in words. It's another world in the most amazing way.

Sounds like a place in Cincinnati, Ohio.

There is a great place here in Denver called the Havana Sauna. Hot tub, regular pool, steam room, sauna, crystal room (a room with walls and ceiling made of quartz), showers, etc. Very non-sexual, although it can be a little cruisy - but overall, just men being naked together relaxin. There is also an opposite side for women.

I'll never forget the young guy wearing white onion skin shorts in a downtown fountain whose shorts became totally transparent when wet. Nice. I guess those shorts are only available online now a days. I remember when they were kind of popular.
