i read this:

Metrosexual - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

when a man is metrosexual, i think is bisex...
What do you think of this new way?
i'm metrosexual.....
Metrosexuals are appearance oriented but have sexual interest only in females and aren't at all interested in having any sexual contact with men. A bisexual which is what I am will have sex with any willing adult male or female but may dress in less than spectacular ways, may be less concerned with shaving, haircuts, fingernail trims and may wear mismatched socks.

Nothing metro about dressing well... when called for.

But 'facials'?

Hair Mousse?

c'mon.... ladies, are you really drawn to men who obviously spend a lot of time primping and fussing over their fucking do?
I know of a lot of metrosexual (or dandy, as it were) men that get more than a few ladies.

I think that the term metrosexual is getting confused with "Fashion Victims" by many people. To me it means simply you take some extra care with your grooming, hygiene and appearance. It's basically putting your best foot forward appearance wise. Sexuality has nothing to do with it.
Urban Dictionary: fashion victim

I think this definition is consistent with the use of the term in popular culture. I have been accused being a bit metrosexual for minor image consciousness, even though my style of dress and such do not resemble those of effeminate gay men.

hard to tell for me...

everybody thinks i'm bi or gay but i spend over 5 years with girls so far... i admit that a certain kind of penisses turn me on but i would never have sex with a guy or even perform a blowjob..

my best friend is gay and he's always trying to convience me when he's drunk to let me get a blowjob from him but i always decline :D

Metrosexual is just a straight man with taste. It's like everything else, in order to understand it people need to put it in its own box and name it. The guy may not even be particularly effeminate but the only acceptable way to explain the fact he likes nice things is to label him a Metrosexual.

I agree with this post.. I had never heard of the word "Dandy". I was talking with my older sister when she described my best Straight friend as dressing like a Dandy. She did not say it in a mean way but it sounded somewhat derogatory when she said it.

Metrosexual is just a made up word, that made GenY think it was being clever. It means, generally, a man who is disproportionately, perhaps inappropriately concerned with his outward appearance.

Narcissistic is another good word. But, dandy or fop are both perfectly appropriate to use. In other words, a "pretty boy."

Usually metrosexuals have grooming rituals that are more akin to what one would expect from the stereotype of a *vane* woman.

As to the other, it has nothing to do with sexual orientation, though I'm certain there is some degree of crossover between both camps.

I think it's like a spectrum.

Deep down, all men are metrosexual.

Everyone wants to have a good, on-trend wardrobe full of exciting options of clothes to wear for every occasion, plus nice shoes, handy man bags, nice sunglasses, nice shiny white teeth, skin and hair under good control, a gym-built body and an iPhone or similar...

But some people are just in denial. For some reason they fight against their inner urges. Being fat, "not needing" a smart phone, or broadband internet, wearing "wifebeater" singlets/vests, and drinking the wrong beers.

It's sad :frown1:

Whilst a bisexual man will sleep with other guys, metrosexual guys won't. Bisexuals may not care about their appearances, metrosexuals will. Gay & Bi guys may lust over a metrosexual guy, metrosexuals won't lust after any guy (except perhaps their self). Metrosexuals may be comfortable with gay & bisexual guys but they are only ever gonna be cock-teasers - stick with gay or Bi lads (even some curious Str8 lads) if ya wanna get some cock action. Metrosexuals are about style, Bisexuals are more substance.

So a well dressed, well-groomed man is this? I don't think so Phil.

think metrosexuals are nothing but narcissistic brand whores with penises.

Though I find their concern with trend and slavery to fashion and skin care products less than masculine, it has little to do with their sexual preferences... except that they tend to be somewhat softer versions of men.

Any confusion about their sexual identities is the result of allowing gay men to dictate what is considered fashionable in modern society.
Follow the recommendations of gay designers and you end up looking like a gay man.

I'm glad you put that wink at the bottom of your post, Exbiker, otherwise I might have thought that you were serious. As is, I was definitely rolling on the floor laughing. Once recovered from the paroxysms of laughter, however, I realized that the substance of what you say is scarily accurate for so many of the metrosexual ilk.

But I agree that there is a whole spectrum between the extremes of metrosexual and redneck. I for instance am not fat, I do have broadband internet and I never drink the wrong beers (not that I drink microbrews, only that I will be the sole judge of what beer is right or wrong for me.) But I definitely don't need a smart phone and I neither have nor want an on-trend wardrobe full of exciting options of clothes to wear for every occasion. Oh sure, on the rare occasions that I'm forced to don suit and tie (mostly weddings and funerals) I make every effort to groom for my best appearance. But for everything else my wardrobe is strictly redneck.

Ah, variety, it truly is the spice of life. Isn't it wonderful that we're all different?

To me a metrosexual man is just a guy who takes care of himself more I swear a lot more men are nowadays but to different degrees but metrosexual shouldn't be the name since it makes it sound like the person is sexually attracted to something

I've been forced into situations by my better half that borders on metrosexual territory. I have endured a couples day spa where I was mani'd, pedi'd, mudded and bodily masturbated by a very strong woman with an accent who scared me into submission.

I finally understood that this was not only a day of relaxation but one of immense entertainment for my wife who kept telling me to relax.

She threatens to do it again under the guise of togetherness when I know that it's a subtle attempt to humiliate me for my many trips away from home.

Hard to be a metrosexual and a rambling man at the same time.
