I just moved into a house in the country, which apparently has mice. I'm very happy to report that my cat has proven to be a GREAT hunter and finds one or two mice a night. Unfortunately, she likes to find the mice in the basement and carry them up two flights of stairs to my bedroom (still alive) so she can play with them. She has only killed one; the rest she loses and they end up hiding behind things in my bedroom trying to find a way out. Anyone know how to keep my cat from bringing the mice upstairs? Her potty box is in the basement and I don't want to move it.

there is a new cat litter box option called a Cat Genie....
It's supposed to be the new age kitty litter box... You could put it in the bathroom or a laundry room ...

CatGenie - The World's Only Self-Flushing, Self Washing Cat Box

As far as the mice up to you how you wan't to get rid of them ...

easy was is putting traps out ......

Stop feeding her for a couple of days
That might work, but the cats I know like to share their trophy with their owner. They like a pat on the head for a job well done.

Sensual Goth I don't think the litterbox is the issue.

Scorpiorising you may have to ban her from your bedroom until you can get an exterminator to rid your new abode of vermin.

LOL. That would be a fiasco. She's a monster if I don't feed her first thing in the morning. Oh, not to mention those large puss-in-boots eyes she gives me.

Unfortunately, I can't afford the price of the box, but when I can, I will definitely look into it. Seems like a great idea. Thanks

Shut your bedroom door?

Good idea, but she'd have a fit. I know this because I had a boyfriend who was extremely allergic to her. When he would stay the night, we would ban her from the bedroom and neither of us would sleep because she'd be scratching at the door all night. I contribute that to the relationship not working, LOL.
