Heartstopper i loved it much more than Love Victor. Heartstopper is based on a British graphic novel, that is popular in England. The creator of the novel was behind the show, so the show follows like 90% of the novel. The show showcases gay, lesbian, bi , trans and all relevantly new up and coming actors and, i think the actors are between 18 to 21.A top 100 best shows on TV was just announced and perhaps deservedly Love Victor didn't make the list of the 100 best programs, however Netflix's Heartstopper did (at #76). I honestly thought Love Victor was a much better show (at least in its first 2 seasons), while Heartstopper was just sappy mush. In its defense, Heartstopper managed to tell its story more convincingly in its 8 episode run compared to the discombobulated mess showcased in Love Victor season 3.

Regarding the casting of gay actors, I was a little surprised that Nicolas Hamilton wasn't given another cameo in season 3 (he could have played the Liam character and it would have made sense) and I was even more surprised that Danell Leyva wasn't back as Benji's AA sponsor, as season 3 was so focused on Benji's alcoholism. They ended up making Benji's mentor some 60yr old guy who he talks to at an AA meeting. That lack of character continuity was a bit jarring and the 60yr old connecting with an 18yr old came across as a little creepy and predatory honestly.
Is this a good time to tell you to pay attention to the times in season 1 where Charlie's holding food but not eating it or being asked if he wants to eat but declined? Yeah the seed's there in the show. I get what you feel though, but I still trust in Oseman enough to not make the show that depressing while still mostly be faithful to the graphic novel. What worries me about Heartstopper is that I immediately read the graphic novels after the show ended, and I don't like the direction that they go in, so I really hope the show doesn't stick to those plotlines. It's all about Charlie having eating disorders, and severe mental health problems which land him in hospital, and I could do without depressing shit like that. I don't know why we can't just have happy stories about coming out and young romance without it needing to devolve into tragedy.
Isn't that what he's already done with Rahim though? He went from asking Simon for advice to becoming a Simon for some else.
I think now that love victor is over he’ll go for more adult rolesRaheem was also a love interest. Liam was a bit different. It's not a huge difference I'll admit but the show belabored the point by Victor initially botching it. Either way I really liked that.
Anyone else getting a bit weirded out by how streaming networks use the same pools of actors? Like I love love love Michael and Joshua but they were JUST in Senior Year as well, which is also set in high school.
Oh my God. Some of the dialogue in season 3 is so bad. Like before this scene he actually says with a straight face" Call me Mr. Casual". Like in real life if a guy ever said that to me I would projectile vomit right in his face.I like being bad
Yeah. 3 was probably the worst of them all. Also, shortest with only 8 episodes. It was clear they neutered the hell out of it to be able to promote it on Disney+Oh my God. The answer to your question is no.I didn't have a problem with any of that??? Also it was hot?
It really took Heartstopper for us all to realize how mediocre Love Victor really was lolSeason 3 felt rushed but at the same time really slow. it was clear that they were setting up season 3 to end with Benji having to choose between Victor and boarding school like they ended last season with Benji/Rahim thing. Also, i think they should do a final movie as a proper send off to really end things, maybe a graduation special
Haha that exactly h9w i felt rewatching the first 2 seasons and season 3 after watching heartstopperIt really took Heartstopper for us all to realize how mediocre Love Victor really was lol
