Can we trust Congresswoman Bachmann with the Nuclear Codes when she harbors an irrational fear of being abducted by Lesbian Nuns(I'm not making this up):

At the time of the alleged attempted kidnapping, Bachmann was a state senator from Minnesota and had already started to campaign against LGBT rights. She had previously been caught hiding in the bushes of a gay rights event.
When she refused to speak about gay rights at a constituent forum, the two women encountered Bachmann in the bathroom and questioned her on the subject.
Pamela Arnold, a 5-foot-tall lesbian now in her 50s, began a conversation with the then-senator, when Bachmann screamed out, “Help! I’m being held against my will!”
Arnold stepped aside and opened the door. Bachmann rushed to an SUV waiting outside and shortly after, filed a police report stating that she was “absolutely terrified and has never been terrorized before as she had no idea what the two women were going to do to her.”

So are there any questions about whether or not she suffers from homophobia?

It is my fondest hope that the Republicans are stupid enough to make her their nominee. That will be handing the president reelection on a golden platter.

OR

That she's stupid enough to run as an independent, splitting the conservative vote, and, again, handing the president reelection on a golden platter.

I'm concerned that anyone with this combination of dangerous ignorance and charisma can advance as a serious candidate. I thought she did well last week and she will obviously appeal to many idiotic, scared, regressive bible-punching morons. There are, unfortunately, a huge number of stupid people looking for someone to blame for the current economic climate and willing to nod along with the bigotry and faux-libertarian crap she is spewing.

That she is a leader in the war on women and actively involved in limiting equality and choice make her particularly distasteful. On the upside, the possibility that she could advance as a candidate has the potential to wake up and involve young voters. I don't think many young people even in the fly-over states want to be represented this way.

yes, she is a deranged:eek: drama queen with homophobia on the side. even her professional handlers cant cover that up, and even an on staff us history tutor cant cover all her mistaken knowledge about the history of our nation. what fun to watch this ridiculous loon preen and emote for the camera.

As time goes on while making a good first showing, I suspect that Bachmann's campaign will unwind over time. I will give all GOP candidates the nod of having good intentions.

At a time when this nation needs incredibly strong and knowledgeable leadership to overcome corporate greed and incredibly powerful special interest groups, we are presented with a group based on experience not capable of doing so. Though I would not vote for him because his viewpoints on many issues are contrary to mine, the most capable of the candidates is still Romney by a wide margin. The only one who would have the potential to shake things up would be Jeb Bush. The thought makes me cringe, but, he would have the potential to pull from both sides of the voting spectrum. Romney may be able to do the same.

The GOP has one problem in that Palin and Bachmann have the potential to divide the extremists and take away sufficient vote to cost them the election.

The "Pizza King" is not viable and none of the others joining the conservative fight are that viable either.

Right now we have a number of people in office who are acting like a bunch of spoiled children. If I can't have the ball I don't want to play and I don't care about the consequences of my actions.

If things go really wrong on this kind of thinking it has potential to not only give us four more years of Barak which is likely anyway, it has the potential to cause the removal of a number of Republican house seats turning control of the house back over to the Democrats. If it is severe enough a blood bath will commence very quickly after the swear in.

If we care about this country we need to have people in office that are not spoiled children but instead people good and experienced at negotiation and the compromise necessary to move forward.

Neither Bachmann nor Palin understand the word compromise and it is based on at least Palin's track record something that is against her basic personality. Her thinking is "my way of the highway".

For all of us on U.S. shores we need to look at the whole picture and not the part or small part that the President in truth plays. After all the President cannot do anything for very long term without the approval of a number of other people.

You beat me to it. I had such a laugh when this came out.
One really has to wonder if this is just an act sometimes. I mean, just how many times can she put her foot in her mouth? Granted she will be able to rally the Tea People and the religious right, but she's also going to need independents to support her and I don't see how they can given all of the verbal gaffes and historical inaccuracies she's made.

"Damn, I need me some fresh air. I'm going out to my garage (door closed to get the full effect), turning on the car engine, and I'm gonna relax in the backseat for a while."

Now I have to watch Fargo...
I hope carbon dioxide comes up at a debate. I'd like to see her try to convince people (some could probably be) that it's harmless.

Some people seem to excel at the foot-in-mouth act, perhaps she is one of those people. I can't see how it would help her to mistakenly reference a clown serial rapist/killer instead of a famous actor so I might have to go with Freudian slip on this one. She should keep talking, though...her flubs are entertaining even if her politics aren't.
