^^^ What's a "big deal" is that these Tea Party people (Sarah, too) are forever invoking the Founding Fathers. They subtly try to insinuate that they are better americans than liberals because they have the Founders and God on their side. Some of those tea baggers would dress in Revolutionary War militia garb, some brought drums and fifes, Paul Revere was a common costume at the rallies. These Tea Partiers set themselves up in a holier-than-thou position, referencing the Founders and Revolutionary history and Constitutional intent -- and it turns out they haven't even done a good high-school student's amount of reading on the subject. Both Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin appear to pull information right out of their ass when they don't know the answer or when they are doing improvised speaking. They get caught out in their misinformation, yet they STILL invoke the Founders and God and Flag and Country the next week even as they continue to refuse to learn any actual facts.

For their time and place does anyone truly believe the "founding fathers" were conservatives? Fathers called and ask me if I would pull Balloonhead Buchmann's head out of their asses.

Wow Bachaman lied or had a gaff. There is shocking news. No, wait, that isn't shocking at all. I think my cat is smarter than her. For a Tea Bagger, she has little knowledge about the history of the American Revolution. I will give her the benefit of the doubt because, she is a midwesterner and Revolutionary history isn't covered as much in grade school and high school as it is, say in NJ where I grew up. Maybe she ought to follow her idol, Ms. Palin's lead and read some newspapers. Which ones you ask, to quote Sarah, "All of them".

I think she got it wrong because she missed that day in HOME SCHOOL.

big deal, Obama campainged on how he was going to shut down Gitmo and Blumenthal lied about military service in Vietnam. Which lie is worse?
So you wanna play "Which lie is worse"?

Bush, Cheney, Rove and company lied about shitloads of things - including lying us into a pre-planned, unnecessary war that killed a million or more people, opened a Pandora's box in the Middle East, destroyed our standing in the world, cost us uncalculated trillions on the nation's credit card, and brought us to our economic knees - to point out just one of their lies. And virtually everyone at your altars of propaganda, Fux "news" along with the obnoxious blowhards on rightwing talk radio, constantly lie as a matter of course filling your head with shit day in and day out.

But you know what? None of that relates to the topic, Michelle Bachman, now does it?

p.s. The current administration has been unable to close Gitmo because the obstructionist Repuplicans have blocked any attempt to move prisoners to US shores, and nobody else in the world wants the stale leftovers from the Bush/Cheny regime, just FYI.

A Congresswoman who simply can't bother with history.

For Michele Bachmann, a pattern of getting facts wrong

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s suggestion Saturday that the Revolutionary War began in Concord, N.H., rather than Lexington and Concord, Mass., marks the third time in recent months that the potential GOP presidential hopeful has committed a puzzling gaffe about history and current affairs.

Both Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin appear to pull information right out of their ass when they don't know the answer or when they are doing improvised speaking.

Pulled right out of their ass to a hungry mob of 'low information' voters rabid for more 'low information'.

I found this interesting nugget at The Atlantic's website; it's a fairly short and to-the-point essay on Bachmann's unelectability. The reason why it's so interesting is who wrote it: Nicole Russell. Her credits include writing for "The American Spectator, Politico, National Review Online, and The Washington Times" and that "[t]he author was, in 2006, the Social Conservative Coalitions Director for the Republican Party of Minnesota."

Her chief point isn't so much the headline as what follows at the end of the article:
Finally, Bachmann's presidential aspirations will further muddle an already murky GOP field. While it may be no coincidence that word of her intentions came on the heels of former governor Tim Pawlenty's more formal announcement, her presence on the trail will surely distract independent voters, anger left-of-center conservatives, and splinter the votes of right-of-center conservatives. Like an attractive but still weak independent candidate at the local level, Bachmann will manage to pull only enough votes from her peers to leave the strongest candidate weakened.

The battle against an incumbent president is always an uphill one. This cycle, the GOP quest for that bigger job ought to be left to more experienced -- and, potentially, electable -- candidates.
In other words, Bachmann's a spoiler candidate. Coming from someone so close to her, that must sting, huh?
