I'm sure Mrs. Palin and Todd have said a lot more kinkier things behind closed doors.
But now I just put a rather bad image in my mind, and need a stiff drink to get rid of it. :biggrin1:

This inspires me to start a new thread in the Etc. section with the title "Things Sarah Says to Todd/Todd to Sarah in Private." But I won't. Still. . . Oh, the temptation!!!!

I really miss Trader Joe's.

"Aspire" is another example. Now that SP has used "aspire" as a transitive verb, it will soon become correct to do so as other people follow her example.

If enough people do, we will all eventually be able to use aspire transitively without feeling embarrassed, and it will all be thanks to SP. Just like we may one day be able to have interesting conversations with our friends about refudiation. But right now all she has done is reveal her ignorance by confusing 'aspire' with 'inspire'.

Before I get accused of being a snooty left-wing Brit, here is a what our former (socialist) Deputy Prime Minister said about the Taliban a few years ago:

The objectives remain the same and indeed that has been made clear by the Prime Minister in a speech yesterday that the objectives are clear and the one about the removal of the Taliban is not something we have as a clear objective to implement but it is possible a consequence that will flow from the Taliban clearly giving protection to Bin Laden and the UN resolution made it absolutely clear that anyone that finds them in that position declares themselves an enemy and that clearly is a matter for these objectives.

Pedercic99: You don't come across as a snooty, left-wing Brit . . . yet. Relax. You don't even need to try. There are a couple of your countrymen already doing that for you whose posts in the Politics threads are consistent ignorant raves making them come across mad and you just angry. LOL! Actually, you don't even come across as angry.

You'll have to post several thousand comments so we can create a sample scatter chart to predict when it's your time of the month (year?) or when you're in season.

Love the post quoting one of your Deputy Prime Ministers. If I counted correctly, that hysterical run on sentence qualifies as quintuple speech.

That's all one sentence? There isn't even a comma in it. My freshman English teacher would have marked it "ROS" for "run on sentence" and given me a lower grade. Perhaps that was not typical of the way she spoke though.

There may be a kernel of troot dere, JA.
Oh no you dint! I, for one, am willing to let some slips slide when faced with such powerful intellect.

I haven't given up hope on this one. I certainly haven't given up the fight on this one.

It just grates on my soul. We must prevail.
Correct use of the subjunctive gets me hard.

You mean it is the sort of nonsense up with which you will not put?

I don't consider it nonsense and it is something up with which I will put. I am he who regards grammar as important. Those are they who are ignorant of grammar and it is I who will call attention to it.

Someone needs to alert the Department of Redundancy Department straightaway, and on and on etc. and so forth.

Kinda makes you nostalgic for old Winnie, don't it? . . . to reprise a recurring theme . . .

^ Please wake us up when you can demonstrate a repeated pattern of making hundreds of wildly innacurate statements on something significant like say, oh I don't know, American history, pending legislation, or current events, rather than a rare human slip of the tongue.

On a related theme, are you really comfortable entering a discussion of factual accuracy and correct grammatical usage..... or even basic literacy for that matter?

Good idea. Actually, there's precious little difference between reading facequeen's posts and napping. Both involve semi- to un- consciousness in some form or another.
Better idea. Why don't you join me? The bed's already warm.

[Edit: and I'm semi- conscious.]
