Nah, I don't think that was all he had going for him. As you point out he had plenty of other attributes w/ or w/o being big.

But since at least one of his conquests, Ms Hayworth, was no ordinary starlet, was presumably choosy in her selection of men and actually married him not just messed around with him I thought that maybe, perhaps, kinda, sorta there could be a connection, no?

Looking over this thread again, I am reminded of Henry Kissinger. In the early 70's he was single. He dated some VERY beautiful women. When asked how he could get them to date him, he said, "Power is the best aphrodisiac." So maybe Mickey Rooney wasn't hung like a horse. Maybe he had the fact of his acting prominence and personality going for him. In Hollywood, it is good to be a top star in the social structure.
