Ya, getting older sucks. I mean, ok, there's the clarity and the wisdom and the emotional maturity and all that....but the slowing down and the aches and pains and all the sagging,,,it blows

Or to put it another way....

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rage at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Aches and pains I can agree with, but I'm in some of the best shape of my life right now. I just finished re-reading Zen in the Martial Arts by Joe Hyams, and there is mention in it (from Japanese court the middle ages) that a man past forty is in the prime of his manhood.

Another example is that some of the best Highland Athletes I know compete in the Master's level competition which is ages 45+. It is shaping up to be the most competitive division in my part of the country.

I'm not disagreeing with you for fun, SRDUDE, but I think it's all a state of mind. I imagine the only saggy parts of you are the parts that are supposed to be that way! If I eventually reach that point, I'll just buy a longer kilt. :biggrin1:

The exceptions, not the rule. The majority of people in hospitals aren't <45

Huh. I've never seen one of those before. I checked where their locations are, and I'd have to drive some way to get to one.

How are things in Rankin Inlet? :biggrin1:
