So... why are military silkies of this length ok but in the civilian world you get looked at odd if you have shorts that are actually shorts?

i love my tiny silkies. i don't care what anyone thinks. so comfy.

Why aren't these the norm in civilian life: schools, sports clubs, etc.? Remember the 90's when "shorts" were like capri pants?
In the70's, gym shorts were this short a lot of the time, then things changed. I say if the Marines can wear them, civilians can (tho perhaps a lot of obese Americans shouldn't!)
