Against my DR's recommendation, I got an IUD because I can't remember to take bc pills, and they make me sort of crazy with the hormones.
I am not a good candidate because I have never had children and the IUD can cause scaring of the uterus from the IUD fusing to the uterine wall that could (super slim chance) cause infertility.
That POS hurt so badly that the first week I had it I couldn't move. The pain that the Dr said I would have lasted forever and the cramping during menstruation was so severe it would double me over and cause my back and neck to hurt. I toughed it out for 3 months thinking that my body would get used to is, but I never did, so I had it removed. I still do not know if it affected my fertility, but I'll figure that out when the time comes.
I know that my case is considered rare, so I really do hope that you doctor has better new for you. I hope you feel better soon.
