Some mature guys (a cover term for anything between late teen-age and death) like to create screen names posing as a "boy." These "boys" are no longer certifiable kids, but others who visit their pages could appear to be prowling for child porn. I don't approve of child porn. But I know that there is not always truth in screen name advertising. So, I occasionally open a "boy" page if the rest of the name seems appealing. And now and then I really find pictures of a real boy. Oops! I don't really want to be there, but somewhere in computer land my having looked at this kid's pictures is recorded and I'd have a lot of splainin to do if forced to defend myself. Anybody have thoughts about good ol' Peter Pans?

Ha yeah I know what you mean. Something about someone named 'boy' who's 60 that just doesn't seem right. My screenname comes from a series of stories I was reading at the time.

Of course IDK the whole dad/boy deal within the gay community always seemed sort of weird in a way to me.

if you report the dodgy sites you stumble upon then that will be recorded too. as long as you leave at the first sign of anything dodgy and report it to the proper authorities then you won't look like you've something to hide.

...and you might actually help stop one of these monsters.

i know i look young for my age (i'll be 31 next week), but i HATE it when people call me boy in the context of sex.... it just feels so very, very wrong.... as it is, i had a hard enough time becoming sexually active because whenever i'd imagine myself in a sexual context with someone it would feel... well.... illegal.... even today, i'm approached by many men who are attracted to me because of the fact that i look so young.... i coined the term: 'ethical pedophilia' for that reason.... basically it's defined as a person who is sexually attracted to someone who is an adult by age standards but still looks like a child....

but i digress: i like MEN myself.... :D

omg that makes so much sense to me. im 21 but most people think im like 16 or 17. most of the time i think ive found a girl whos around my age and shes illegal to be with. sometimes i find real girls my age and then i think she feels akward cuse i appear so young. its all fucking crazy to me.

i think if you are over 30 then you should keep 'boy' out of your name. maybe use a different spelling or something.

Anyone over 21 would be applicable imo. I use a slightly altered username, mitchymoGUY on another site. I would feel stupid calling myself mitchymoboy.
Some of my friends DO have a bad habit of calling me mitchyboy tho.

From what I know of gay sub-culture, which isn't much I'm afraid, there's the whole "daddy/son" fantasy thing which requires that guys take on roles of man and boy or father and son. This is a sexual turn-on for people so it gets played out verbally and physically. I'm not sure it's about pedophilia but rather a kind of power play between legal adults for the purpose of getting off. For instance I've had random ims from older guys on this site who call me "boy". If you check out my photos I don't look anything like a boy, but i think it's a fantasy for them that maybe I'm naive or inexperienced and they have the sexual desire to break me in, as it were. I like your take on the whole thing for sure. I hadn't thought about it that way before. Thanks.

thanks hung jon.... there is definitely a fantasy component to it, but on the internet especially it can be a very mysterious and potentially dangerous game.... too many guys who are actually underage come to sites like this one posing as 18-20 year olds looking for quick hookups.... some men are very shrewd about it, and others can fall in to a trap so fast they don't know what hit them and don't handle the situation correctly.... (ie: reporting the underage culprit to the website moderators so they can be eradicated....)

it reminds me of a time when i was 26 and i hooked up with this guy, and he actually checked my ID before we got in to any kind of play.... it was so embarrassing....
