Speaking for myself, I wouldn't waste my time trying to "take" these people on. You're probably not going to change their mind, and all that's going to happen is a shit-fight gets started & you'll probably get mod-slapped/banned along with with the bigot.

I would just block, report them, & move on.

I agree.

I agree with Kotch. As a woman I feel like I can take care of myself without the mods banning every guy who says the word "slut" BUT of course it's good that we discuss things, and question values and assumptions. Nico you really cant change people and if you ban every woman hating guy you'd lose half the membership (ok thats an exaggeration).

I truly believe that there is a HUGE veil of safety when you post online because you never have to face up to the shit you say. You don't have to reveal yourself. You can be anonymous and say whatever you want knowing you'll offend people but maybe you're a weak person in real life and you're seeking power. Maybe women hate you and you want to make them all pay. I don't know. I don't let ignorant guys bother me. I try not to anyway.

I don't have the time to explain the history of power and gender and the devaluation of women in most cultures on Earth, but you can certainly research the topic yourself

Let me google that for you

Overly patronizing without being directly relevant to the comments at hand. I disagree with that guy about views towards women, but if you're seeking to take an absolute moral high ground on the issue, there is no justification for a double standard. I expect men to treat women with respect, and vice versa - equality of treatment. You don't get a bye to spread hatred just because someone was horrible to you or your gender at some point in the past.

misogyny = misandry = unnecessary and pointless
