hilaire, i think this sums up what you're saying about some of the attitudes of some of the younger guys.

http://www.lpsg.org/148792-stupid-paris-hilton-shows-off.html

personally, i think ms hilton is an irritating imbecile
but the venom here is shocking.
some serious vagina hatred going on.
(and, seriously, it looks pretty normal and ordinary to me)

Oh my gosh, what a horrible thread! And you couldn't even see enough of her to comment on it one way another. This makes me very glad that I stay in Women's Issues.

I'm going to be honest here. I have become upset over some of the posts I have read about women on this site. I have repeatedly seen male members group us into vain, selfish, user groups. However I try to contain myself on the board. Any man that speaks about a woman like that does so because he feels something he has went through or observed in his life about women to be true for all of us. That's fine and he is entitled to his opinion. I could get on here everyday and talk about how horrible men are, but really whats the point? This is LPSG, the site is more male oriented and male dominated. I come on LPSG to have fun and be silly and read interesting threads. I'm simply not interested in arguing with dominating jerks I can do that off of here.

1) Get over it because... it's a site called LPSG. It is full of cock addled, testosterone full kids talking about how their 20 inch dicks tear girls in half. If we want to change misogyny here at LSPG, then YOU hit me with some great ideas. Because truthfully... and lets be blunt (because that is something your lovely self never has a problem doing). If you want to change the minds of these space cadets who believe huge, hunkin' colossal dicks ripping innocent, helpless little girls apart is satisfying or even remotely enjoyable then go ahead and change their minds. If you honestly think in a place with this much testosterone and competition you can change a few idiots minds, then my dear feel free to try.

A misogyny free LPSG may be an unreachable goal, but I don't think a respectful Women's Issues is too much to ask for.

And some of the most offensive comments in that thread are posted by gay men? What's up with that?

Because most gay men are (IMHO unfortunately) addicted to celebrity news.

I don't know most of the guys straight or almost straight or bi or gay I have chatted to come across as very nice. I guess I don't talk to the idiots a lot :)

I could not agree more. Remember respect and misogyny are two different things though.
You will never get resect from a true misogynist.

I think this is interesting because I have to ask myself if a guy is prepared to readily adopt a deeply warped view of women is it any wonder that all his relationships with women have gone to rat shit? Any man who blames all women for the things one or two women have done to him (as he sees it) is an unreconstructed misogynist with whom no woman could have a healthy relationship anyway. No wonder this guy's ex fucked his best friend and took off with his sports car. I'd have don the same if I were the ex.

Something that occurs to me now though and maybe I should have mentioned it in the OP, is do you femmes ever feel like there are some female members who're misogynistic ? Women with anti-woman attitudes?

Two things-

I try not to blame that guy. Even when I'm PMS'ing I try not to post something like "Your a big fat weiner," because he would just laugh it me, and not understand that is my way of insulting him for being an arrogant jerk.

I'm not sure that any of the women are anti-women. I can only speak for myself. I am 110% female. A woman can get on here and gush over every large cock on the place like a porn star and I wouldn't bat an eyelash. We are all different. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Most certainly. Not just here, but in many places.

there's a small (very small) percentage of gay guys who just resent women. maybe they've crushed on one too many straight guys. but the ''makes me glad i'm gay'' comments are fairly regular.

There are! And they're probably more offensively obnoxious about women than even the most sexist pig straight guy, because they don't have to deal with women on an intimate level. I have gay male acquaintances who say really shockingly offensive things about women as though being a gay man made it OK to mentally address women as sub-human, untermensch. It's actually scary.

There's a difference between being amusingly offensive in a counter-cultural way, choosing to highlight shibboleths and silly social mores by being extreme in one's opinions and being in fact hateful and deeply hostile towards other people. I think some gay men step over that line all too readily.

When you have a website about sex, you're going to get more than a few misogynists.

Some men are bitter, others just have odd sexual desires involving dominating and degrading women. When these kinds of people come to this site of course they're going to let those feelings out. They can't talk about sex otherwise.

I find no end of delirious amusement reading threads where men compare themselves to the tech specs and operations manuals of air to surface cruise missiles and rifles -n- such. It is certainly not a weapon. :D But I think we tend to think of things like that in that context so we can "sell ourselves and self value to one's self".

Typically too - the Internet gives rise to what would be otherwise latent behaviors. We see and experience so much disrespect and misogyny I *believe* in this light. Anonymity allows it to surface so much quicker than say, in person, nose to nose. I see many prime examples of plain old fashioned sociopathy - enough to make me wonder why these people are not seeking help on a professional basis.

If I were to call anyone "XYZ" anyway; does it make it true? No. Even if it was, it's purely to save E-face and E-dignity and more than likely grappling with an inner issue I need to take to ground and examine. But - people are lazy.

Most of the time they will not stop and weigh the mental scales on "How would I convey how *I* would like to be treated and respected by *giving* that in the first place". Granted, I am wily and snarky at times, even "punked" a few threads on ego-stroking nonsense - but I will not point a finger at specific individuals and - here is the trickiest bit:

Point out the behavior, not the individual. Because once you get the person's defenses up, you're wrong for even being right. :p Delicious catch 22, IMO.

So that's my mental filter before posting really. I am NO "lady killah gangstah". I am not a conscious seeker of metering out pain and humiliation to anyone, electronically or in person and especially in my bedroom. I am primarily motivated to secure the enjoyment and pleasure of playmates. :D If people did JUST THAT alone, the world, this forum would be such a different place.

Coincidentally, less weapons would be dick shaped too, methinks. ;>

Congrats are in order, I think I just put the label of "pussy-arsed fagot" on my back. But I really do not give a shit. :D

There are a couple of blatant, borderline-scary misogynists on this forum. They take to stalking particular women from thread to thread, making snarky, often offensive responses whenever they post. These people are just plain threatening, about one degree from "cyber-stalker". I think a lot of us know who they are after seeing their behavior on this forum. It's not taken as seriously as it should be--I've known a couple of women now who have quite literally been stalked and physically threatened by men with personalities like that.

Well, the US never passed the ERA amendment or passed a national anti-lynching law, so its not just here at LPSG.

good thread.

i do feel like misogyny and sexism just isn't taken as seriously.

a poster whining about pakis and niggers would be booted,
a poster ranting about poofs and fags would be booted,
but a poster complaining about bitches and hos?

if it's not taken as seriously as by most people then it goes pretty much unchecked. it's not easy being a woman on this site...the ones who post here regularly tend to be tough & out spoken.

...apologies if my language offends.

I think sexism is just more ignored now because the masculinization of women has become obvious. That's no excuse not to combat it when you see it. Also, other types of discrimination have taken precedence.

We're doing all we can in the West to turn women into men. I'm not against women acting like men if it's natural, but I think we're purposely teaching young girls to behave more like boys. That's quite unfortunate.

Telling young girls they can kick a ball like a boy is not empowering them.

Today, women don't take the heat the boys do for engaging in opposite-gender jobs/activities.

In Japan and Eastern Europe, women are much more feminine compared to North American women.
