Almost 3 days in search and still nowhere to be found. For a modern plane to have disappeared just like that, sounds frightening and shady at the same time.

What's your take on this?

Russia not contributing as it is pre-occupied

^ one of the theories is mid-air disintegration. But the US recently said that there was no explosion seen on their radar. If it is mid-air disintegration, there still should have been some debris. I mean it's just mid-air, its not outer space.

Alien abduction, time-slip, twilight zone. I can only imagine.

My heart goes out to anyone who had friends and/or loved ones on this flight. I have been in the situation of being told that a loved one was a passenger on a doomed flight. The not knowing must be horrible.

I would think that if there was an explosion in mid air there would likley be debris of some kind. I think the plane is going to be found in time in three or four large pieces underwater.

The only other explanation I could offer at this point is this.

Edit--- I forgot to add this earlier... Radar does not work over water only over land or 120 miles from land. Over water flights rely on GPS transmission with Satellites to communicate their position to control towers it's called the radar signature. The mystery of flight MH370: How on earth, with all our technology, do we lose a giant plane? | ExtremeTech No one seems to understand why the signals from the black box are not being picked up. They can signal from 20,000 feet under water. It was suggested on the news today that it's possible they could have crashed in the jungle in Vietnam.

It will be found. The black boxes will beep on the ocean floor for 6 months. That's how they found Air France 447 which was lost over the mid-Atlantic in 2009.

A 777 is a huge aircraft. The capacity to seat over 400. If it exploded in mid air at height there would be debris over a wide area, or something. I am thinking it's on land also.

Either that, or tracking and communication was somehow turned off, it flew below radar and landed at another location..yup, odd thinking. It is very odd for an aircraft of this size to disintegrate and leave no trace on the surface of the ocean and no prior communication from the cockpit of trouble. Also, it did not disappear over a desolate section of the planet.

mmmm
very confusing, i always thought these planes were tracked from start to finish, so there whereabouts were known at most times, especially the route they're supposed to be taking?
(either way its more of intrigue than the Ukraine drama playing out)

Initially I thought maybe the aircraft had been blown up, potential bomb on board or something, but with this recent revelation about the military radar (which are a lot more accurate and more detailed than civilian radar) tracking it after it had turned around or to the West as it is looking like, it is looking more and more like a hijacking attempt gone wrong or not as right as they hoped it would. It will be interesting to see what is found with the search now widened.

have no hesitation in suggesting this was likely, perhaps, if the object burnt & disintegrated, wouldn't be much trace left, suppose the height it started at, and impact into the sea, as to whats left

ahhh experts required

bit of a shame the news is getting Political now, blaming the Malays for not acting quicker, being less than transparent etc

Whatever the outcome, it's a pretty good indication of how the media acts in situations such as this. Never properly investigating a lead or a source first to see if it contains any fact. Just blurb it whether it's true or not. Rumor mongers and speculators with very little in depth journalism.

full on Reality Drama Mystery and Intrigue
i am going along with this Theory .. the China version, even tho the Malays discount it ..

The grainy Chinese images, which were taken on Sunday but only released on Wednesday, identified the debris in an area roughly in the same location where an oil rig worker claimed he saw a flaming jet in the sky.

and
why on earth dont they Fn clarify and tell us what is CORRECT in this inst ..

A US Federal Aviation Administration warning last year said Boeing 777 planes such as MH370 should be checked for cracking near its satellite antenna.
But the Malaysian Ministry of Transport said on Thursday all airworthiness checks had been done on MH370 prior to its flight. Boeing insists that MH370 did not have the antenna in question.

I will go with Kiwi oil rig witness. He sent his email just after, and received no reply to his query. His email described what he saw in detail and gave compass headings.

I'll stick with this. Wreckage will wash up on some shore at some time. Then they will trace back tide times, drift, winds etc to the place. I thought it was on land, I think I may be wrong.

the China Ship is expected to have arrived by now, in the same Kiwi sighting area, and if there independent search in this area proves OK, the Malays are going to have a lot to answer for ..
ignorant buggers poo pooing the idea, when they dont even have satellites'
