Correction: you're all for democracy as long as 1) it conforms to your interpretation of the Constitution, and 2) you like the result.
Imagine if there had been a referendum on the Iraq war: "Prop A: you can't send Missouri boys to die in Iraq." You would have creamed over that. It would have been the triumph of the people. Instead, the people are saying, "hey, socialist, we want our liberties back."
Ok, so in addition to tell the "socialist" they want their liberties back, they also want to tell him to keep his government hands off their Social Security check and Medicare plan...I'm sorry- I don't put too much stock into a meaningless referendum in Missouri. They're all missing the point. The threat to their liberties comes from rich old white businessmen on Wall Street, not the government forcing everyone to get healthcare.
