Have you ever been mistaken for being the husband of your mom? I have and it is kind of funny. Once I was at the grocery store with her and a man asked if he could help me and my wife. It wasn't my wife it was my mom. I have also been mistaken if I pick up the phone at the house for her husband. How common is this?

Oddly when I was in college I had lunch with my mother and the head waiter thought I was a "Boy Toy" and several years later when I was working my friends thought my mother and stepfather were siblings!

I'm 34 and my cousin, Ellen, is 59.

A few years ago we were at the beach with other family members. Ellen and I were helping her young granddaughter get her sandals on. Some random passerby commented on how beautiful "our daughter" was.

The remark weirded me out, but I could tell Ellen was tickled pink.

I was actually mistaken just for the fact that we were shopping together. Nothing to do with age really. I look about 30 years younger than her.
