Why pay 35% corporate tax when corporations can move overseas and pay a 15% corporate tax?

I don't think anyone needs to explain the obvious ethical ramifications of such a practice here. Personally, I wouldn't mind if all of these money grubbing corporations, who exploit the country that allows them to be rich by not paying their fair share of taxes, just moved overseas entirely. It's not as if most people buy nothing but "made in America" merchandise anyhow. That way smaller businesses and new corporations will have a chance to thrive.

"Move overseas" seems to be up for interpretation. Google is located in a post office box in Ireland. Does anyone really doubt that their assets, both physical and intellectual, reside in the U.S.?

There's gotta be a point where we say "You want to do business in the U.S.? This is your tax rate regardless of which post office your 'headquarters' is in."

Hey how about THIS incentive --- you move your corporation overseas you lose every Federal Contract you have and if there happens to be a Coup in that Country -- you can't take the loss off your taxes! Haliburton should have lost their Federal Contracts when they moved their World Headquarters to Dubai!! I guess you don't see your post as being rather "un-patriotic" do you???

the quote that i used to start this thread has now become a Democratic fund raising commercial. i am so proud to have brought to your attention. If you still believe that corporate money trickles down to benefit you, then you really are just a pinhead pissant. Romney is a corporate whore, as are all the GOP candidates with the exception of Ron Paul. While i dont agree with much of what he says, at least he is NOT a corporate apologist. Good for him. his second place finish in the Ames straw poll should give the GOP hierarchy cause for concern.
